Genshin Impact has achieved a significant financial milestone, surpassing $5 billion in lifetime gross mobile revenue within the Chinese market. This figure is particularly notable as it accounts for both iOS and third-party Android store spending, providing a more comprehensive view of the game's performance in a region where the Google Play Store is unavailable. Globally, the title has generated over $4 billion in mobile revenue outside of China, positioning the game to reach a total of $10 billion in lifetime player spending by 2025.
Despite these strong historical figures, the analysis indicates a recent shift in the game's performance trajectory. Over the past 12 months, the title has experienced a decline in revenue compared to its initial three-year period. Industry analysts attribute this cooling trend to heightened competition within the RPG genre and internal market cannibalization caused by the release of other miHoYo titles, such as Honkai: Star Rail and Zenless Zone Zero.
The data highlights China as the primary driver of the game's success, accounting for more than 55% of total global mobile revenue. Beyond financial performance, the title maintains a robust global footprint with over 218 million total installs. While China leads in both revenue and download volume, other key markets include the United States, Japan, Russia, and Indonesia. These findings rely on gross player spending estimates provided by industry research firms, which offer a broader perspective than standard analytics platforms that typically exclude third-party Android data or focus solely on net revenue after platform fees and taxes.
