However, net bookings saw a decline of 3% during the same period.
Take-Two Interactive’s financial results for the first fiscal quarter of 2027, covering the period from April 1 to June 30, 2026, reveal a complex fiscal landscape characterized by modest revenue growth alongside a significant increase in net losses. Despite the anticipation surrounding the upcoming release of Grand Theft Auto VI, currently scheduled for November 19, the company has yet to achieve profitability. Net losses rose by 186% to $34.1 million, a development attributed in part to the termination of a third-party development project.
Total quarterly revenue reached $1.53 billion, a 2% year-over-year increase that exceeded initial company forecasts. However, net bookings declined by 3% to $1.39 billion. The revenue mix remains heavily reliant on recurrent consumer spending, such as microtransactions and DLC, which accounted for 84% of the total. Segment performance was mixed: mobile games remained the primary revenue driver at $762.3 million, despite a 5% decline, while console revenue grew by 16% to $640.5 million. PC revenue saw a sharper contraction, falling 13% to $131.1 million.
The company continues to leverage its established intellectual property to maintain market presence. Cumulative sales figures remain robust, with the Grand Theft Auto series reaching 475 million units sold, including 230 million copies of Grand Theft Auto V. The Red Dead Redemption series has reached 116 million units, and the NBA series has surpassed 175 million copies. Additionally, the company’s mobile division, Rollic Games, reported strong engagement, with total downloads across its portfolio exceeding 3.9 billion. While Take-Two did not provide specific pre-order data for its upcoming flagship title, the company maintains its commitment to the established release schedule.
