The development of the virtual reality adventure game Mahakarya Vokasi centers on a Player-Centered Design approach intended to create an immersive, culturally resonant experience. By integrating Indonesian folklore and historical landmarks into a puzzle-based framework, the project aims to educate players while maintaining high levels of engagement. The primary thesis posits that prioritizing user-centric design principles is essential for balancing educational content with the technical demands of virtual reality, ensuring that cultural narratives are effectively communicated to a diverse audience.
Evaluation of the game, conducted with a cohort of 20 participants, utilized the User Experience Questionnaire to measure key performance metrics. The findings indicate that the title excels in attractiveness, stimulation, and novelty, with these categories receiving high marks that validate the game’s immersive quality. While efficiency and dependability metrics reached above-average levels, the analysis identified perspicuity as a significant area for improvement. Players reported difficulties regarding clarity and narrative consistency, suggesting that the current user interface and storytelling mechanics may hinder immediate comprehension for some users.
Ultimately, the study concludes that Mahakarya Vokasi is a worthy and engaging application of virtual reality technology. The data highlights a clear path for future iterations, emphasizing the need to refine UI design and streamline narrative flow to enhance user accessibility. By addressing these specific shortcomings, developers can better bridge the gap between complex cultural education and intuitive gameplay, ensuring that the experience remains inclusive for both casual and seasoned gamers. This research underscores the necessity of iterative testing to harmonize technical performance with user-focused design in the evolving landscape of educational gaming.
