Bandai Namco Group’s fiscal year 2026 first-half results demonstrate strong financial performance, with net sales reaching 643.8 billion yen, exceeding both initial and revised forecasts. Operating profit for the period stood at 105.4 billion yen. This growth was largely driven by the Toys and Hobby segment, which achieved record-high results through robust demand for model kits, card games, and the global popularity of Tamagotchi. The Digital segment also contributed significantly, bolstered by the success of new network content such as SD Gundam G Generation ETERNAL and the home console title ELDEN RING NIGHTREIGN.
The company’s performance across its diversified portfolio remains anchored by the Gundam series, which continues to generate synergistic value across products, services, and visual media. While the Visual and Music unit saw a slight decline compared to the previous year—largely due to a high volume of major releases in the prior period—the Amusement unit maintained positive momentum, with a 6.0% year-on-year increase in existing-store sales in Japan. These results were achieved despite external pressures, including a roughly 2.0 billion yen impact from U.S. tariff policies on the Toys and Hobby segment.
Reflecting these strong first-half results and updated marketing projections, the company has revised its full-year forecast upward. The new target for net sales is 1,250 billion yen, with an operating profit projection of 165 billion yen. Looking ahead, the strategy focuses on sustaining momentum through the launch of new gaming titles, expanding the global reach of the Gundam brand, and navigating international trade policies. The company continues to invest in long-term growth, including significant expenditures related to the Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan, where its pavilion achieved high visitor satisfaction ratings.
