Fortnite's going to slowly die because Fortnite's going to run out of collabs. They're already running out of collabs. They can't make more and more collabs. They've already made all the big pop culture collabs. There's really nothing else they can do. Collabs are what's making Fortnite up. Also, in Flight Stakes, stash didn't get much bigger. [laughter]
Henry throwing him throwing lobbing it out there.
Hello everyone and welcome to our bonus segment. It's Twig Jr. here. We go. We're going to do Twig Jr. awards. We're going to do Twig Jr. predictions. And we're excited to have our guest Twig Junior host back. If you remember, I think it was the year before last, Henry Loenfeld's children, Rocky and Mickey, came on and it they were just such a hit. We had to have them back for this year. So, for those of you who don't know Henry, we work together at Scopely and he went on to be president and CBO
at HOMA and is now the CEO at Stash. Our sponsors, Appchards, are going to be super mad at me that I'm doing this right now, but that's okay. So last year, uh, Rocky and Mickey came on the pod and this was like kind of like a Boys on the Street segment, you know, kind of like a, "Hey, let's get the younger voices on the podcast, get your perspective on the games." Mainly, we just wanted to hear them curse because it was really funny. Obviously, with parents permission. So, it's time to um do another segment with them. Rocky, welcome. Can you remind me and us, how old are you?
Uh, I've just turned 12.
All right. So, last time you were 10?
Yeah, I think.
I think. Okay. And what what's your game of choice right now? What are you playing?
I play a lot of different games. Depends if my friends are online. I play Roblox, Clash Royale, Donkey Kong Bonanza, Persona 5, and Undertale.
Okay, awesome.
Do you ever do any uh homework? Do you
ever do any school work? [laughter]
Yeah, I do.
Okay, just checking.
Mickey, how old are you? And uh what games are you playing?
I'm 10 and I play Undertale, Roblox, Clash Royale, and Mario World. And I probably am going to do Donkey Kong Bonanza when Rocky finishes playing.
Do you guys have the Switch 2 or Switch One?
Yep, we got For Hanukkah.
Oh, awesome. Both of you got a Switch, too?
Do you each have one?
Sure. We sure.
Oh. Oh, that's rough, man. That's rough.
The reason that we brought them on is cuz we don't know [ __ ] all about Roblox, right? So, we need we need experts to tell us what the hell was going on with Roblox. That's the reason we had them on now. Now, we need them [clears throat] to explain Roblox and all the other things that kids are playing since we are too old to understand what's going on, right?
Yeah. We need the real player perspective. Okay. But first, first our first question is Rocky, what do you
think about your dad's switch from Homa to Stash? I hear you have opinions. I think it's a lot better for the gaming industry because Homo [ __ ] sucks [laughter] because Ho is another mobile game company that shoves ads in your face and there's mindless slop. It's very stupid. [laughter] It provides nothing. It just makes more and more people play mobile game instead of actual other instead of games that you pay. You make one payment and you get to play the full game and it's actually fun instead of just getting ads shoved in your face.
Stash update helps like get game companies that want to make more money and it prov it makes it so Apple and Google make less money and Apple and Google suck. Why do they need more money? Those companies you need more money so they can make better games.
Are you sure Eric Crest isn't your father? [laughter]
Wow. Yeah. Jesus. Now, you didn't mention anything about the Frenchness of Homa. Is that Was there any concerns
about being a part of a French company?
No, because French companies can be made good video games like Expedition 33 and they had really good shock. [laughter]
More importantly,
those games are so bad. Clash Royale is better than every single game home has ever made.
Okay. All right. Fair enough. So, not fans of hyper casual. Get it. All right. So, let's do a little Twig Jr. Awards. So, we have two categories for you guys. Let's do the first one. What was the most disappointing game of 2025?
Oh, Steal Brain Rot for sure.
Oh, Stealer Brain Rot. Okay. On Roblox.
Why? Because it's literally garbage. It copied another game. Just added a few more characters and more Brain Rot and has a million people play. I don't think it should have as much attention as it does.
Wait, did did you play it though?
Uh, I have.
Did you get your brain rod stolen?
Yeah, but it it's just such a weird game because it copied another game and it's way more popular than the other game.
Okay, got it, Rocky.
So, it didn't actually copy another game. other games copied it that like Mickey he thinks came out first. Um I don't think it's a disappointing game. I just don't think I'm interested in it. I just sometimes play play with my friends but I don't really have that much fun. I really play cuz my friends are playing it. But I don't think it's a disappointing game. I think I have two disappointing games.
Okay.
So one of them I barely played and another one I used to play a lot. So, the first one that I barely played, it's a PC and mobile game. So, it's probably the worst Persona game ever. Persona 5 and the Phantom X.
Oh,
cuz first of all, it's like a gotcha game kind of. And I played a little bit of it. It was very laggy. And I think that's probably just software issue. But
compared to 100% of games, I only played I played a big chunk. I played like I'd say 30 hours so far. I've played it since the start of the summer, Persona 5 Royale, and it's way better. Like, and I've seen other people playing the other Persona games, I think there's a major quality decrease in Persona 5 Phantom X. Um, and the other game that I think is kind of disappointment of the year at the start of the year, kind of start of the year, like middle of the year, this was like the biggest game in the world, like by far. I think I think Grim Barton compared to where it was is kind of a disappointment now because it used to average like millions of players and now it only has like a couple hundred thousand which is a lot. It's a lot but like it's not in its prime. It's never going to be in its prime ever again.
I think it's better than Steel Brain but it's still not a good game.
Steel Grand is ruining America [laughter]
destroying kids lives. All right, let's do the next uh Twig Jr. category. So, this one is one that we love to do, which is what was the talk of the year. So, like the hottest topic in all of the game industry. So, uh Mickey, what do you say?
Well, uh it was kind of at the start of the year, but the Nintendo Switch, too,
because the Nintendo Switch, too, didn't come out till way later in the year.
Got it. Okay. I think I Chris, I think you had that as
Yeah, that was one of mine. Yeah.
Yeah. Yeah. That was a good one.
There's gonna be another 3D Mario.
Hopefully this year or next year there'll be 3D Mario.
Uh Rocky, what was your talk of the year?
Well, here's how it kind of works. So, um there's like many talks of the year. At the start of the year, it was Grow Barn. I remember like when we came to our school to like introduce ourselves before school started, all the every kid was talking about Grow Garden and Fortnite. Then we stopped talking about Fortnite cuz only one of my friends
plays Fortnite now cuz we don't really play Fortnite that much anymore. So now we were talking about Grub Garden and then kind of recently like a month or two ago we started talking about Steel Brain Rot and we just forgot about Grub Garden. So we have like a car line for pickup and I don't have a phone but I watch other kids play Clash Royale on their phone. That's what like every kid who has a phone plays on when they're waiting for car to line and they like sneak it when the teachers aren't looking.
Um, and yeah, Clash Royale and Steel Bren are probably a talk of the year.
Oh, got it. So, no one's playing Brawl Stars anymore.
Oh, no. That that was down this summer. And uh also um the Nintendo Switch 2, I'm pretty sure it wasn't even announced that it was like the Switch 2. I don't even think anyone knew what it was going to be called until like the middle of the year. I think in January we just knew that they were going to make another console
or was that in 2024 when everyone was wondering
maybe for Yeah, maybe for you all. I think uh you know Mr. Crest knew
for everyone was wondering what the new model would be. That's about what I remember. Maybe you're wrong. I'm pretty sure like it was announced like the Switch 2's name was announced like at least eight months ago, like probably in in December of 2024.
I think they probably weren't marketing it to kids until the early part of uh this year. So maybe that's probably why when you saw it.
That makes sense.
Still not technically marketed towards kids. Switch story can look at the top paid games and it doesn't have any of the Nintendo originals. today currently. I looked at it like right before this interview. It said um Cyberpunk 2077. I don't think that's kid.
That's not even a Switch game, is it?
Yeah. A lot on the store are not Nintendo games. They're what we call third party games like other other
people make the games and put it on the Switch.
So, it sounds like your favorite games are uh Donkey Kong, right? Or what else are you playing on the Switch?
I spent my birthday money on High Warriors Age of Imprisoned, but I haven't played it yet. We've played Mario Kart. I've played the open world mode, Mario Kart World. I think it's pretty fun. But for an $80 game, I don't think it's added enough. And I don't think there are enough tracks. It's still a very good game, but I don't think it's as impressive as the upgrade from 7 to 8 Deluxe.
How about the graphics? Do you find the graphics more compelling on the Switch 2?
I think they're more compelling, but not by that much.
Yeah. Oh, for me, uh, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe compared to Mario Kart World, I can see a a pretty big difference in the graphics. I just think the animations are better, not the graphics.
Okay.
Do you guys use the camera that you can do like a picturein picture and do a camera mode with some with somebody else that you or do you play with anyone else? Um I play with him and we would
have played with our dad but we got a rank before we went to New York which is where we're here and um we forgot to bring the dock so we never want to be crashed and like one screen so I'm only playing so far.
Okay.
What's the the next game that you really want to play on Switch or Switch 2?
Probably the new Metroid game cuz it looks it looks kind of cool. Although it isn't out yet. If they do make another 3D Mario game, I would probably want to do that. They're not making another 3D Mario game anytime soon.
It would still be on the Switch, too.
Yeah,
they are.
They're supposed to come out when next year for the 3D Mario is what I've been told. And a uh Splatoon. Did you guys play Splatoon?
Uh I played Splatoon 3 like a long time ago. I totally remember the story. Um I remember it was pretty fun.
Animal Crossing's coming in January. Big update. Neither am I.
Not your game. All right.
Well, let's talk about um Roblox. So, it sounds like you guys have a lot of experience. Grow a garden, steal a brain rod. Do you think you're going to continue to play with Roblox as you get a little older and you know, Rocky 12, you know, make a year 10? That starts to be the I think last time we talked you guys were like, I'm not going to still play Roblox. Or do I remember that wrong? So, Roblox and Fortnite are like two games where I only play if my friends are online. Like, I don't really find them that fun when my friends aren't like I just don't find Roblox and Fortnite that fun for the most part. Like, most of the time when their friends aren't online cuz they're like social games. When your friends are online, in my opinion, there's no point in playing Roblox on Fortnite. That's that's what's keeping them big. I like playing like single player games like I said like Undertale, Donkey Kong Bonanza, and Persona 5 when my friends aren't on mods. I might and I might not
because when I get like more homework as I get older, I probably won't have as much time. And then also it's better than most one player games because if you play football game on Roblox, it's probably better than Madden because you play with like actual people. And if you play Madden on like something on a console, you're not going to be playing through people. You're just going to be playing against like a bot.
All right.
Okay.
So you So Rocky, you like single player games. You're starting to like single player games more.
Well, I always like single player games. My first game was Mario Odyssey and my second game my second game was Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and my third game was Breath of the Wild. So, I've always played single player games.

Let me ask a random question since you wouldn't let your sister on the show. Do you play with any girls at on Roblox? Do you have any girlfriends that you play with on Roblox?
Not at all.
No, one of my friends does.
Yeah.
Yeah. Yeah.
So, you guys don't have girlfriends yet?
No.
No.
Okay. Well, friends that are girls?
Friends that are girls or girlfriends? Either one?
No.
No. No.
No. Okay.
And when we [clears throat] tried teaching Mary how to play a video game with the new Princess Peach Showtime game, she could barely play it. Like, she couldn't even play even though it's designed for her. It's designed to be super easy.
Yeah. [laughter]
You sound like you guys are bullies. Do you guys bully your sister or you guys nice and take care of We were playing the game, but then we just gave up. So, you couldn't beat the first boss, so I had to beat it for her.
How much trouble do you guys get into for bullying your sister? [laughter]
All right, moving on.
Yeah. Yeah. And she's she's seven
apparently. So, on Roblox, um, what are your favorite games to play right now?
I play multiple different sports games. One of them is called NFL Universe. It's not that big of a game, but it's just super fun
because I love football.
It's a It's a pretty big game. I think uh Forensic Game fam work at that one. It's a GameFam game.
Do you guys have a console?
My dad, but I we don't really play on it. It's It's like I have played on it before.
Okay. But you're allowed to play on it.
Yes. Okay.
Like Astro board games on it.
Like God of War. We're not allowed to play God of War. I I like playing on the sports kingdom. I love sports video games. They're so fun.
Okay. So, you guys could play sports games on the m on PS5 if you wanted to.
Yes.
Okay.
That's why I do them.
Okay. So, you like sports games. Okay. And then Rocky likes single player. Chris, like he's your child. Like, this is this is pretty hilarious. Yeah. Basically.
All right. So, let's talk a little bit about Fortnite. Um, you know, Rocky, you said you really only want to do that with friends. What modes in Fortnite do you play? And do you play any of the creator modes? like people that create their own islands.
Well, I normally do just normal battle royale. I used to do the creator modes, but only for one reason because they like they give you like XP boosts for the battle pass to like skip through the battle pass really quickly by giving you XP. They like they like XP glitches on the maps and that's the only reason I play them. But a lot of the maps are like copying Roblox games which I've noticed pretty recently.
Oh, interesting. Are you the best player of your friends group?
Oh, no. I I only have one other friend who plays Fortnite and Insta's like by far favorite game. He can destroy me.
Okay. Okay.
Other video games. I'm good at Hollow Knight. I'm good at Undertale. I'm good at like I'm good at hard single player games.
Not many of your friends are playing Fortnite yet.
Not really. A lot of my friends used to
play Fortnite like last year, but now I don't think many of them play Fortnite anymore. How about How about Minecraft? Do you guys do Minecraft at all?
I do. I put So, there are two types of Minecraft that I play. I actually don't really like So, you know, Bedrock and Java?
Yep.
No.
Um, so we have Minecraft Minecraft Education on our school computer, which
like we have Minecraft on the Switch, but Minecraft Education is actually better in Minecraft on the Switch cuz first of all, there's less glitches and I like Minecraft controls on the computer a lot more.
That's pretty. Um, so I on our school computers, we like play Minecraft Education with our friends and school when we have free time.
Yeah, same with me.
See, here's what's going to happen. Here's my prediction. My prediction is the next time we speak, Rocky is going to have a gaming PC and Mickey's going to be playing all the console sports games.
Yeah, exactly. He's going to graduate and be uh be a sports gamer.
That is uh my prediction.
I [clears throat] got a PC for my 10-year-old birthday.
Oh, nice.
Oh, there you go. What what platform do you play Fortnite on?
At the games launcher. Isn't that the
On PC?
On PC or mobile?
I PC.
You can play Fortnite on?
Yeah, you can.
Oh, well, you used to not be able to
you that is correct.
Well, you could have put it on Google, but you couldn't have put it on Apple because of the lawsuit.
Yeah, I played [laughter]
I think they're like you and I doing I feel like I'm listening to
Yeah, you don't listen to podcast, do you? Uh, I checked out your YouTube channel today. I saw like your shorts on the Switch 2 and I saw one of them that said it's like very big for Switch fans and Switch fans are going to buy even if it's bad. And I said that people can just pirate it onto their computers.
I pirate what? The Switch games.
Yeah, you can pirate a Switch. It's not that hard to pirate now. There are many piran websites now. Yeah, but the thing
is that Nintendo is ruthless in terms of shutting that stuff down,
but possible.
That makes sense.
Well, let's talk a little bit about a mobile game. Well, I'm assuming you play this on mobile or an iPad, Clash Royale.
So, um, how did you guys find out about Clash Royale to start playing it?
From my friends. From him.
Okay. And then what do you like about playing it now? Do you know that it had like a really big update this year and it's now like everyone's playing it? Is that is that why do you think you heard about it?
That's the main factor. But I think another supporting factor why bigger is because of this YouTuber. I don't watch him ever, but my friends talk about him um who plays Clash Royale. I don't know his name. I think he may was one of the supporting factors with that that brought Clash Royale back to life. But um what I like about it, I like the fact that for a mobile game, it requires a lot of skill. I was going to say the
same thing. There's literally any luck in it. Yeah. Well, it it does require some luck, but it feels that much.
It more it's a decent amount of luck, but there's also a fair amount of skill. So, it's not just pay to win. It is it is pay to win elements, but you can still pounce that stuff. And if you spend enough time on it or you're eventually going to get good. Do you spend money in Clash Royale to buy like new card decks or anything?
Oh, I spent $1 on coins one time. I've never spent money on a mobile game.
Got it. Okay. How do you guys hear about new games?
YouTube and my friends, but mostly my friends. Mostly my brother. That's how I blend.
The Rocky channel. Rocky, you should do your own YouTube channel and and talk about playing games.
I kind of quit it because it's kind of bad. my no I haven't even made post yet.
Like is it just you're scrolling and watching other videos and like something pops up from the algorithm?
I check videos like long forums to see
if there are any trailers like that song I heard about Levengers Doomsday trailer that came up today.
Oh, got to watch that.
And yeah, if I find something cool, I click on it. That's how I find most of my trailers and stuff.
How do you think your friends find out about new games? Have you ever asked him like
probably the same way as me or probably from other friends somewhere in between?
Can we talk a little bit about indie games? So I guess these are games that you would play on your PC, right? Like I think you mentioned Silkong, right?
I haven't played Silkong, but I play Hollow Night.
Isn't that the same?
No, there's Hollow Night and there's Hollow Night Silk Song.
Uh, Got it.
I play Undertale on Switch. Undertale is also an indie game.
Have you uh heard of Peak?
Oh, yeah. I've seen YouTubers play it.
Do you have any interest in doing social games on PC? Like playing with your
friends on PC? It sounds like you do that a lot with Roblox.
My friend who plays Fortnite, I play Terraria with him on a PC.
And I'm pretty sure Yeah, Terraria is also an indie game.
You're destined to be a PC gamer. Yeah, sounds like it, right?
Yeah.
How do you find out about uh PC games? Same way. I guess there's there's no difference. Your friends or just YouTubes?
Yeah, they check what's trending on the Steam store and stuff.
Are you Oh, and what's trending on the Steam store? Oh, that's cool.
I haven't checked in a while, but I'm pretty sure last time I checked it was tall silk song.
Are you allowed to watch Tik Tok?
No, the YouTube shirts exact same thing. What what social media are you allowed to use? Facebook, YouTube?
YouTube?
Not Tik Tok?
Nope.
Instagram?
No.
No. Do
you have a phone? Oh, do you guys have phones? You have your own phones?
Nope.
Whose phone do you use?
In summer.
How old are you going to get your phone?
You know,
in seventh grade, I think.
Seventh grade. Okay.
Anywhere close.
Do you play Clash Royale on an iPad? How do you play Clash Royale?
Yes, it can be played on mobile.
Okay. Interesting.
Interesting.
Do you guys have flip phones?
Uh, yeah. Well, no, we have a family flip phone. We have a family phone.
Interesting.
Okay. Yeah, we did that with my stepdaughter. She was She had a flip phone and then she learned how to text like old school like Crest, you and I used to do with the, you know, hit the three three times for an E.
Dude, Henry's got this stuff on lockdown though, right?
I know. This is impressive. Well, like Rocky's 12 and doesn't have a phone yet. All right, so let's do a little predictions. So, in the episode we just did, we talked about what we think are going to be big things happening for next year in 2026. So, Rocky, why don't you go first? What do you think are things you're going to think happen for
next year? A big prediction. What do you got? I think because of what's happening with Roblox, Fortnite's going to slowly die because Fortnite's going to run out of clabs. They're already running out of collabs. They can't make more and more collabs. They've already made all the big pop culture collabs. There's really nothing else they can do. Collabs are what's making Fortnite up.
Did you play Simpsons? The Simpsons collab?
No, but I heard about it. I I wasn't interested in it. I like the Simpsons, but I haven't
Interesting. Okay. I think uh in 2026 Still Burn is also going to die and there shouldn't be another huge Roblox game. And I also think that Deltaroon is going to get at least three new chapters.
They don't know what Delta Run is.
I don't know what Delta is.
Del are not popular. Delt [laughter] Well, they're majorly underrated, but they're not.
Is it Roblox game?
No, it's um it's an indie game.
Oh, okay.
On PC?
Yep. But it's also on Switch.
Do you know what the Steam Deck is?
Yeah, I think the Switch 2 is a lot better because first of all, it has no exclusives. Well, it's not supposed to have exclusives, but I think the Switch is better cuz now it has exclusives and I don't I think the performance is worse, but that's not why you're getting the Switch 2. You get a Switch 2 for the exclusives. You don't get you don't get a Switch 2 for performance. If you want a performance, then just get like a PS5 Prime or something. Also in Floyd states stash didn't get much bigger. [laughter]
Henry throwing him throwing lobbing it out there. [laughter]
That's fun. That's really funny. Uh well, cool. Chris, any other questions for our Twig Junior staff here?
Well, let's meet your sister. Can you bring your sister in just to say hello?
Young Lady Mary.
She's short. [laughter]
She's short. Well, she's seven. I mean, that's kind of how that works.
I don't know. What other questions do I have? You You haven't talked about Xbox. Does any of your friends have Xbox?
Uh, no. Not really. I think
PlayStations are much more popular. A lot more friends of PlayStations.
Yeah, Microsoft is destroying Xbox, right? Hey, there she is.
Lady Mary.
Hi, Mary.
Hi.
Hi. Are your brothers nice to you or do they pick on you?
They pick on me.
Really? Do you pick on them back? Do you Do you Who could Do you punch them back
sometimes?
Yeah. All right.
Good for you.
Well, don't let them pick on you too much. [clears throat]
Do you play any video games?
Uh, no, not really.
No. What about your friends? Do your friends play any video games?
Yes,
they do. What do What do your friends play?
Like Roblox and stuff. Ah,
got it.
What do you like to do? She watches TV and sitcoms.
No, I don't. Yeah.
No, you know what she does? She reads books and does homework.
No, I don't. [laughter]
You know what she does? She's going to make twice as much money than you in 10 years. Um, why don't you want to play Roblox, Mary?
I don't really like it. Like,
why?
Gins are so hard for me. Like
Oh, okay. thought that if she uh like holded her finger on the screen and moved and [laughter] we were walking off the map infinitely.
Oh, that's
You have my permission to punch him in the head if you want.
No, no, we do not condone violence here on on [laughter] the podcast.
Have you guys ever heard of prize picks?
Yes, on the bet 365 sounds familiar.
Fanual ads. Those I I've watched so many sports games and see too many betting ads that I know what it means. Well, I didn't know what to mean, but I've heard it.
Really? So, you've you've actually been familiar with Price Picks because you see it on what? On on broadcast
games.
Yeah, I've seen it on ads.
Exactly. They're targeting children, right?
Yes. Yeah.
But you don't know what they actually do. What Price Pix is? Do you know what Price Picks is?
A gambling thing. I know it's a gambling thing.
All right, Mike. Quickly. There you go. [laughter]
Proof.
It makes you more money.
That's right. That's right. That's what it's supposed to do.
Mickey, you said you watch sports. You watch a lot of sports. A lot of like NFL football. You see it on TV.
Four games in one day.
That That's a lot of football. Do you watch Red Zone? Red Zone's my favorite.
I just watch multi- view and then when those games are done, I watch another multi- view and then I watch more multi- view and then the next day I watch more games.
Oh my god. You're just like my son. Holy moly. And you're inundated by prize pix ads. [laughter] Do you see any of these ads when you're um on YouTube?
Not on YouTube. Only on like but like I was it was like it's not that consistent on YouTube TV. I do.
Okay.
That's where they're everywhere. They're everywhere.
Take that quickly.
They're like inside the games, too. Like FanDuel all the time.
All right. Thanks, guys.
All right. Well, thank you for that. Well, awesome. This was so much fun. Thank you all for talking to us. Rocky, Mickey,
thank you. Henry,
Lady Mary, Henry,
share your children.
Compass time. These guys stole the show. [laughter]
It's good to see you guys. Have a great Christmas.
A strong prediction.
Very good prediction.
Or have a great holiday, I guess, in your case.
Happy Hanukkah. Yes. [laughter]
Happy holidays.
Happy holidays and see you all next time. Thank you. We'll check in in a year and see how things are going.

Generation Alpha’s gaming preferences reveal a sophisticated shift away from hypercasual mobile titles toward experiences that offer depth, narrative, and social utility. While mobile games like Clash Royale maintain a presence as school-yard staples, younger players increasingly criticize the genre for its reliance on intrusive advertising and lack of mechanical substance. Instead, this demographic gravitates toward indie titles such as Hollow Knight and Undertale, alongside established console ecosystems. Platform loyalty is driven primarily by exclusive content and social connectivity rather than raw hardware specifications, with the Nintendo Switch serving as a primary example of a platform that successfully prioritizes gameplay experience over technical power.
Social dynamics remain a cornerstone of engagement, as platforms like Roblox and Fortnite function less as traditional games and more as essential digital third spaces. However, there is a growing sense of fatigue regarding the aggressive pop-culture collaborations that define the current Fortnite model, suggesting that long-term retention may require more than just external brand integration. Discovery of new content is heavily decentralized, relying on peer-to-peer recommendations and influencer-led content on YouTube rather than traditional marketing channels.
A significant concern emerging from this demographic is the normalization of sports betting. Despite a lack of functional understanding regarding how these services operate, children exhibit high levels of brand awareness for platforms like FanDuel and PrizePicks. This recognition stems from the pervasive integration of betting advertisements into televised sports and digital gaming environments. As these platforms become deeply embedded in the broader sports-viewing experience, they are effectively conditioning younger audiences to associate high-stakes wagering with mainstream athletic consumption, marking a notable shift in the cultural landscape of youth entertainment.
