Summary

The 2022 Slovak Game Industry Catalog serves as a comprehensive overview of the nation’s digital entertainment sector, documenting its economic performance, demographic composition, and structural growth. Published by the Slovak Game Developers Association, the catalog functions as both a directory of active industry participants and a statistical analysis of the domestic market’s trajectory. It provides a detailed look at the ecosystem, encompassing indie developers, major studios, outsourcing firms, and educational initiatives.

The industry demonstrated significant resilience and expansion throughout 2021, reaching a total annual turnover of EUR 80 million. This economic output was supported by a workforce of 1,079 professionals distributed across 70 active companies. While these figures represent a continuation of long-term growth trends, the analysis notes that the sector anticipates a potential stabilization or slight deceleration following the accelerated performance observed during the peak of the global pandemic.

The scope of the catalog covers the entirety of the Slovak game development landscape, highlighting key industry players such as Pixel Federation, PowerPlay Studio, and Nine Rocks Games, alongside specialized service providers like Superscale and Studio 727. By aggregating data on company profiles, ongoing projects, and professional resources, the catalog provides a centralized reference point for stakeholders to assess the maturity and capacity of the Slovak market. The findings underscore a robust, established industry that remains a vital contributor to the regional economy, characterized by a diverse mix of independent creative ventures and large-scale commercial operations.
