This figure represents in-app purchase revenue globally, after accounting for platform fees and inclusive taxes. The data comes from AppMagic.
The mobile launch of Honkai: Star Rail demonstrated significant commercial success, generating $132.3 million in in-app purchase revenue during its first 30 days of global availability. Data sourced from the market intelligence platform AppMagic confirms that this figure represents net revenue after accounting for platform fees and inclusive taxes. While this performance is robust, it remains lower than the initial 30-day mobile revenue generated by miHoYo’s previous title, Genshin Impact.
Geographically, the game’s financial performance is heavily concentrated in Asian markets. China leads with 34% of total revenue, followed by Japan at 26%, the United States at 15%, and South Korea at 8%. This regional dominance is further reflected in the game’s revenue per download (RpD) metrics, where Hong Kong, Japan, and Singapore rank as the top three regions, underscoring the strong appeal of gacha-style mechanics within these territories.
In terms of user acquisition, the title achieved 15.9 million downloads in its first month, a figure that rises to over 21 million when including the soft launch period. China again leads in volume, accounting for 23% of total installs, followed by the United States and Japan. Following the initial release, the game stabilized to an average daily revenue of $3 million to $4 million. A notable peak occurred on May 18, when the introduction of the Jing Yuan character banner resulted in a single-day revenue high of $8.7 million. These findings highlight the game's strong market penetration and the effectiveness of character-driven monetization strategies within the mobile gaming sector.
