Dungeon & Fighter Mobile has established itself as a dominant force in the Chinese mobile gaming market, generating nearly $2.5 billion in gross revenue between its May 2024 launch and the end of the year. This performance exceeded initial market projections, solidifying the title’s status as the second highest-grossing game on the Chinese App Store for 2024, trailing only Tencent’s long-standing hit, Honor of Kings.
The data, provided by market research firm Niko Partners, accounts for both iOS revenue and spending across third-party Android stores, which is a critical distinction given the absence of Google Play in China. The game’s launch trajectory represents a record-breaking achievement for Tencent, with first-month iOS revenue reaching $270 million—significantly outpacing the debut figures of other major titles like Honor of Kings and Peacekeeper Elite.
Beyond its immediate financial success, the game is viewed by publisher Tencent as a potential evergreen franchise. For developer Nexon, the title’s strong reception in China serves as a cornerstone for a broader growth strategy, which includes expanding the Dungeon & Fighter intellectual property into new genres and international markets. While the game is currently limited to South Korea and China, its sustained commercial momentum has prompted plans for further franchise development, including upcoming projects such as The First Berserker: Khazan and Project Overkill.
