CD Projekt has launched the "Girls in the Game!" (Dziewczyny w grze!) scholarship program, a corporate social responsibility initiative designed to increase gender diversity within the gaming industry. Developed in partnership with the non-profit educational foundation Perspektywy, the program specifically targets high school students, with a focus on candidates from smaller towns. The initiative seeks to dismantle industry stereotypes regarding gender roles by providing financial support and professional mentorship to the next generation of female developers.
The scholarship provides recipients with a monthly stipend of PLN 1,000 (approximately $252) over a 12-month period to assist with training and educational expenses. Beyond financial aid, participants gain access to mentorship from senior CD Projekt RED staff, including quest directors, producers, and quality assurance leads. This dual approach of financial backing and direct industry guidance is intended to lower barriers to entry for women pursuing careers in game development.
Separately, market analysis regarding CD Projekt RED’s portfolio highlights the commercial performance of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt remaster. Analysts from Erste Securities Polska projected that the title could generate between $26 million and $32.5 million in revenue by the end of 2026, with estimated sales reaching 3 million units. Despite the game being offered as a free update to existing owners, the remaster successfully attracted new audiences, evidenced by a record-breaking peak of over 113,000 concurrent players on Steam shortly after its release. These developments underscore the company's dual focus on long-term talent pipeline development and the continued monetization of its established intellectual property.
