The game trails only Clash of Clans in terms of gross revenue.
Brawl Stars has officially surpassed $1 billion in lifetime gross revenue, marking a significant financial milestone for developer Supercell. This achievement establishes the title as the fourth game in the company’s portfolio to reach the billion-dollar threshold, joining Clash of Clans, Clash Royale, and Hay Day. The data, provided by Sensor Tower, highlights the game's rapid growth following its 2018 release, with 2020 serving as its most successful year to date.
The game’s financial performance was bolstered by a 27.5% year-over-year increase in player spending during 2020, largely driven by a successful launch in the Chinese market. Total revenue is distributed across major global regions, with the United States leading at $143.5 million, followed by South Korea at $138.5 million and China contributing over $100 million. Platform distribution shows a near-even split, with the Apple App Store accounting for 52% of total revenue, while Google Play accounts for the remainder. Notably, when excluding the Chinese market, Google Play represents the majority of global revenue at 53.8%.
In addition to its financial success, the game has achieved substantial reach with approximately 265 million total downloads. The primary markets for these installs include Russia, Brazil, and Turkey. By the end of 2020, Brawl Stars had solidified its position as Supercell’s second-highest-grossing title, trailing only Clash of Clans. These figures underscore the effectiveness of the game's monetization strategy and its sustained popularity across diverse international markets.
