Create free accountmanager for the mobile ad network the circle so i came to this event because i knew um a large number of indie developers and large publishers that would be here and we want to connect with those developers regardless whether they're small or huge publishers like romeo and king business is to monetize traffic for gamers for game development game developers right across the world mainly emerging markets you see that's a huge opportunity well when we look at the asian markets we actually need to split the asian markets really between china japan korea and southeast asia and encompass south asia like india for
example it's a huge market and it's a market that's growing in importance as a virtually middle class we're seeing the rise of smartphone adoption in that country growing at an amazing pace um so what we've done is we've really concentrated on southeast asia market south asian market and that is our that's our root cause and what we see really in those markets is we see that users are consuming games applications but often the monetization's hard on those markets and that's mainly because credit card up takes very low markets um bank account adoption is actually quite low as well it's around about 12 percent and eight percent better for those two forms of actually paying for content so how does a developer get paid for the efforts of their labour
and that's that's the real problem for us we think the ad the uh the monetizing through advertising is probably the best solution it cuts through all those sort of issues and actually having a strong ad sales team in those markets and understanding its market as well it's benefited us from the growth of the company so what we're trying to do really is to use our experience to help development look at their traffic and say you know you've got a huge amount of traffic it's a very very strong market um are you monetizing it you're not could easily accommodate an event besides the gbc it's a it's a great venue people want to come to london uh there's also a native community of
uk game developers that would definitely come to this event i think it's uh i think it's been cheaper to come along i think there's lots of participants in the ecosystem who want to contribute to the event and meet those developers and i think it's a fantastic platform i can only see good things from connect and i'm looking forward to other future clinics events in europe and this time next year so it's been great i'm very impressed with the networking tool the network 2 has been good it allows us to arrange to meet uh game developers i think maybe more information more interactions before understanding by the developers using the networking tools and pre-arranged meetings that would be great um so that's more and that's not really developers so getting used to it one thing i think would be fantastic
would be and i saw this a couple of years ago at mwc was having actually a gameplay area where actually pods can be set up where people can demonstrate their new games to the community to journalists to investors to publishers and actually that that's how deals are done actually getting to play the game actually seeing the game in action and giving those young developers really an opportunity to publicize their game because obviously they're they're small budgets you know they can't really afford to go out and spend huge money on cpi uh advertising campaign so these kind of events are really really good
Monetizing mobile game traffic in emerging markets, particularly Southeast Asia and India, presents a unique set of challenges that require specialized strategies. While these regions exhibit rapid growth in smartphone adoption and a burgeoning middle class, traditional payment methods remain largely inaccessible to the average consumer. With credit card penetration and bank account adoption hovering at approximately eight and twelve percent respectively, developers struggle to generate direct revenue from their user bases. Consequently, mobile advertising emerges as the most viable solution for capturing value from high-traffic applications in these territories.
The core strategy for success in these markets involves leveraging localized ad sales teams that possess a deep understanding of regional consumer behavior. By shifting focus away from direct user payments and toward ad-supported models, developers can effectively monetize their traffic despite the lack of financial infrastructure. This approach allows publishers to capitalize on the high volume of game consumption prevalent in these emerging economies without requiring users to navigate complex or unavailable payment gateways.
Beyond monetization strategies, the industry benefits significantly from networking platforms that facilitate direct connections between indie developers, publishers, and service providers. Events that prioritize interactive experiences, such as dedicated gameplay areas where developers can demonstrate titles to investors and journalists, are essential for smaller studios with limited marketing budgets. By providing a venue for hands-on engagement, these platforms help bridge the gap between creative development and commercial success, allowing developers to bypass expensive cost-per-install campaigns while building necessary industry relationships.
