This revenue was generated across its portfolio of five active mobile games. The company maintained its position as a mobile gaming powerhouse.
Supercell maintained its position as a mobile gaming powerhouse in 2018, generating approximately $1.4 billion in gross revenue. The company’s financial performance was anchored by its established portfolio, while the late-year launch of Brawl Stars provided a significant catalyst for future growth. These findings are based on Store Intelligence estimates, which track global consumer spending across the publisher's five active mobile titles throughout the 2018 calendar year.
Clash Royale remained the company’s top-earning title, accounting for 42 percent of total annual revenue with approximately $597 million. Clash of Clans followed closely, contributing $567 million, while the long-standing title Hay Day generated $154 million. Even the lowest-earning game in the portfolio, Boom Beach, maintained a steady performance with $42 million in gross spending.
The most notable development of the year was the rapid monetization of Brawl Stars. Despite launching globally on December 12, the game grossed $46 million by the end of the month. This figure represented 92 percent of the revenue generated by Clash Royale during the same period, despite Brawl Stars being available for less than half the month. Projections indicate that the title was on track to exceed $60 million in its first 30 days of availability, signaling a strong start for the publisher's newest intellectual property and establishing a foundation for potential year-over-year revenue growth in 2019.
