The co-founder of Sucker Punch Productions will transition out of his role as studio head.
Sucker Punch Productions, the developer behind the Ghost of Tsushima and Infamous franchises, is undergoing a significant leadership transition. Co-founder Brian Fleming is stepping down from his role as head of the studio, effective January 1, 2026. The studio will transition to a new leadership structure featuring Jason Connell and Adrian Bentley, who will serve as the primary leads alongside existing co-creative director Nate Fox.
This change follows a period of sustained commercial success for the studio. Sucker Punch has maintained a long-standing partnership with PlayStation since 2000, producing notable titles such as the Sly Cooper series and the Infamous franchise. The studio’s most recent major release, Ghost of Tsushima, achieved significant market penetration with over 13 million copies sold. Its sequel, Ghost of Yotei, which launched in October 2025, demonstrated continued momentum by selling 3.3 million units within its first month of release.
The transition marks a pivotal moment for the studio as it moves beyond its founding leadership. PlayStation has publicly acknowledged Fleming’s role in establishing the studio’s creative culture and collaborative foundation, noting that the incoming leadership team is tasked with building upon this established framework for future projects. The shift represents a strategic continuity in management, as both Connell and Bentley are long-tenured veterans within the organization.
