The Porsche Esports Carrera Cup North America is a six-race series designed to mirror the real-world Porsche Carrera Cup.
Porsche Motorsport North America has announced the launch of the Porsche Esports Carrera Cup North America, a virtual racing series designed to mirror its real-world counterpart. The initiative aims to bridge the gap between physical and digital motorsport by utilizing the iRacing platform to host a six-race championship. The series is open to sim racers residing in the United States, Canada, and Mexico, provided they hold at least a D License within the iRacing system.
The competition features the Porsche 911 Cup (Type 992.2), a vehicle that mirrors the specifications of the car debuting in the real-world North American racing season. Each event consists of a 60-minute practice, a 15-minute qualifying round, and a 40-minute sprint race. Scoring follows a structure similar to professional racing, awarding points to the top 15 finishers, with additional bonuses for pole positions and fastest laps. While the series will utilize real-world weather conditions, organizers have opted to disable rain for the duration of the championship.
The season is scheduled to run from March through April 2026, visiting prominent tracks including Sebring International Raceway, Miami International Autodrome, Watkins Glen International, Road America, Indianapolis Motor Speedway, and Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta. While participants are currently competing for honors and trophies, organizers have indicated that details regarding potential monetary prizes will be disclosed in the near future. This expansion into virtual racing highlights a strategic effort by Porsche to engage the sim racing community through high-fidelity digital simulations of their professional racing circuit.
