Netmarble’s mobile title, Ni No Kuni: Cross Worlds, achieved significant commercial success shortly after its June 2021 launch, surpassing $100 million in global revenue within just 11 days. This performance highlights the game's rapid monetization capabilities, as it outperformed the initial revenue trajectories of prominent titles such as Pokémon GO and Genshin Impact, which reached similar milestones in 12 and 13 days, respectively.
The revenue data, sourced from Sensor Tower, covers the period between June 11 and June 22, 2021. During this timeframe, the game generated $101.3 million across the Apple App Store and Google Play. Despite being limited to a select number of Asian markets—specifically Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macau—the title secured its position as the second highest-grossing mobile game globally, trailing only Tencent’s Honor of Kings.
Geographically, Japan served as the primary revenue driver, accounting for 45% of total player spending, followed by South Korea at 35% and Taiwan at 15.7%. Within the RPG segment, the game emerged as the top-grossing title worldwide, surpassing established competitors such as Fate/Grand Order and Lineage M. These findings underscore the strong market penetration of the Ni No Kuni franchise in East Asian territories and demonstrate the high revenue potential of localized mobile RPG releases in these regions.
