The new division will develop content for popular platforms such as Fortnite, Roblox, and Grand Theft Auto.
GameSquare Holdings has officially launched Moonlight Studios, a new division dedicated to developing branded game content within popular platforms such as Fortnite, Roblox, and Grand Theft Auto. The studio, which operated in stealth mode for six months prior to its public announcement in January 2024, aims to leverage the creative capabilities of GameSquare’s existing agency, Zoned. The division is led by former professional Fortnite player Kyle “Kazify/Kaz” Rapozo and will supplement its internal efforts with third-party development partners, including Alliance Studios.
This strategic expansion reflects a broader industry trend among esports organizations to diversify revenue streams by moving into game development and content creation. Similar initiatives have been undertaken by other prominent groups, such as 100 Thieves and Misfits Gaming Group, which have also established dedicated studios to build properties within major gaming ecosystems.
Moonlight Studios integrates into GameSquare’s extensive portfolio of gaming and media operations, which includes Complexity Gaming, GCN, Cut+Sew, and various analytics and talent agencies. The launch occurs alongside the company’s ongoing efforts to finalize its acquisition of FaZe Clan. By establishing this new creative arm, GameSquare seeks to strengthen its position in the gaming and lifestyle marketing sector, providing brands with specialized tools to engage audiences through interactive, platform-native experiences.
