Epic Games has introduced a new server region, NA-Central, to improve connectivity and competitive parity for players across North America. Located in Dallas, Texas, and developed in collaboration with Amazon Web Services, the infrastructure is designed to provide low-latency performance for participants in the Central United States and Mexico, aiming to match the connectivity standards previously established by the NA-East and NA-West regions.
The transition to this centralized infrastructure marks a significant shift in the competitive landscape for Fortnite. While initial events during Chapter 4 Season 1 were hosted across the existing East and West regions, the company confirmed that all future competitive events will migrate exclusively to the NA-Central servers starting with Chapter 4 Season 2. Although players may still queue through their existing regional settings, all traffic will be routed to the new central hub.
This consolidation also extends to the financial structure of the game’s esports ecosystem. Prize pools for North American Battle Royale seasons, which were previously split between NA-East and NA-West, will be merged into a single, unified pool. This change applies to all major competitive circuits, including Victory Cash Cups, FNCS Majors, and the FNCS Global Championship, effectively streamlining the professional tournament structure across the continent.
