Dutch Games Association
Membership grew from 150 to 180 entities. This growth followed a restructured membership model and expanded operational capacity.
The Dutch Games Association experienced a year of significant organizational expansion and increased industry influence throughout 2025. Membership grew from 150 to 180 entities, bolstered by a restructured membership model and the addition of a dedicated Event Manager to enhance operational capacity. The association successfully assumed responsibility for several key industry functions previously managed by Dutch Game Garden, ensuring the continuity of essential support services for the domestic sector.
Strategic initiatives focused on elevating the visibility of Dutch game developers through both domestic and international channels. The organization successfully delivered the 2024 Games Monitor for the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science, providing critical data on the state of the industry. Event programming was revitalized with the transition of the DGG Network Lunch to a DGA-led format, the launch of regional Popup Lunches, and the consolidation of national events, specifically positioning INDIGO as the premier industry gathering in the Netherlands. Furthermore, the association fostered talent development by launching a mentorship network comprising 55 professionals and securing national media coverage for the annual Dutch Game Awards.
International outreach remained a core pillar, with the association facilitating a Dutch pavilion at Gamescom and participating in a trade mission to the Tokyo Game Show to promote local studios. Despite these operational successes, the organization identifies a lack of tangible government policy outcomes as a primary hurdle. While the delivery of industry data to policymakers represents a positive step, the association has designated the strengthening of formal government relations and the pursuit of concrete policy support as its central strategic priority for 2026.
