Don “SyykoNT” Muir Joins M80 as VP of Esports

The North American esports organization M80 has appointed Don “SyykoNT” Muir as its new Vice President of Esports. This strategic hire follows Muir’s previous tenure as the head coach for the Valorant teams at Sentinels and XSET. In his new capacity, Muir is tasked with overseeing the organization’s existing Valorant roster while spearheading efforts to expand M80’s competitive footprint into additional esports titles.

The appointment occurs as M80 continues to build its organizational infrastructure following its launch earlier in 2023. The company has recently bolstered its leadership team with several key hires, including Creative Director Zachary Azzara and Co-founder and Director of Marketing Nate Schanker. These personnel moves reflect the organization's ongoing efforts to establish a presence in the competitive gaming landscape since the departure of former XSET co-founder Marco Mereu.

M80 currently maintains a competitive presence in several titles, including Rainbow Six: Siege, Street Fighter, and Rocket League. The organization’s Valorant team is actively preparing for the Americas Valorant Challengers Ascension 2023 tournament in Brazil, which serves as a critical qualification pathway for the 2024 and 2025 Valorant Champions Tour. This leadership transition highlights M80’s focus on professionalizing its operations and securing long-term success in high-profile tactical shooter circuits.
