The Australian indie game studio completed its initial public offering in April 2021, listing on the ASX.
Australian indie game studio Mighty Kingdom successfully transitioned to a public company in April 2021, listing on the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX). The studio raised A$18 million through its initial public offering, resulting in a market capitalization of A$24.51 million. While this valuation fell short of the company's initial target of A$46.5 million, the capital injection provides significant resources to support the studio’s growth strategy and operational expansion.
Founded in 2010, Mighty Kingdom has established a portfolio of over 20 titles across PC, console, and mobile platforms, reaching a cumulative audience of more than 50 million players. The studio maintains a business model centered on developing licensed titles in collaboration with major global partners, including Disney, LEGO, and Sony.
The company intends to allocate the newly acquired funds toward scaling its workforce and enhancing its development capabilities. Specifically, the studio plans to invest A$7.3 million into game development, with A$5.6 million earmarked for the production of licensed titles and A$1.8 million dedicated to self-publishing initiatives. This strategic investment reflects the studio's commitment to balancing its established work-for-hire model with a greater focus on proprietary, self-published content.
