Create free accountokay we're still at mobile world congress it's almost done but uh we're still bravely going on and uh and uh we're here with ab practice so do you wanna say who you are and what you do at graphics and what does that just do like i might be able to tell from the title but now we do we basically do three things uh on the like consumer side of things where uh we're a consumer tools for people like you and i to discover new apps on a on a daily basis so free apps page free apps free new maps with you know in-app promotions paid apps that are on sale so it's really like a consumer consumer-facing product on one side and because we create this this big community this big following about 10 million users in the world more than 3 million daus firing up the app every day we on the other side help app developers and then mobile brands get more traction in the uh in the app store by by distributing their apps to our community of users so you love an app distribution platform pretty much is that right yeah the word platform is always you know very ambitious but uh yeah channel is more you've been pretty successful yes they just raised some
money yeah we did we just raised uh 13.5 million 1 million dollars it's good it's it's well you when you look at the size of the market today like you know it's a it was like 7 billion dollars last year it's gonna be 25 billion dollars in in 2015 less than two years so it's a huge market and uh you know raising enough money to accelerate and keep the leadership in this race is you know exactly what we we wanted to do when we raise the money so play more growth but also there's obviously a lot of kind of competition in this market we won't be talking about any of your direct competitors but there's lots of people kind of offering this kind of distribution of free apps and stuff so how have you guys kind of built up your yeah it is a game of scale uh mostly we have this uh you know funny story of founding the company in silicon valley well in san francisco and moving back the uh the headquarters in paris and then expanding in more than 30 markets before kind of re-entering the the us and the uk which we did pretty aggressively uh two and a half months ago okay uh and
and now we have like you know applications localized in 12 different languages 30 markets uh we deliver you know app campaigns up to 1.5 million installs per day for a day for the for the the most you know the high quality apps we will deliver and that will come from you know 30 markets so scale is really uh the way we try to you know one of the ways we're trying to fear interest or sell from the competition i guess i guess the other thing is i'm an app developer can you get any app can you get it can you get any app 1.5 million downloads or is it just it's going to be not you know it's well we're really on the uh working on the non-insights and then incentivized side of things right so is it not easy to incentivize downloads yeah and it's not the you know it's it's absolutely not the the the like the ethics and the the company philosophy we've been we've been building it's you know we try to be like a like a like a positive force of the ecosystem um you know delivering value to the users the app developers other stores ourselves we're trying to build something that is really healthy and and and long term so
incentivize is really not the way of doing that so yeah i mean it's going to depend on the quality of the app we'll be pushing some apps are more popular than others with uh with consumers so you know depends if there's a win-win a different way and everyone wins yeah hopefully it's i i think we're building something that is very win-win-win for more than you know two parties maybe three or four so yeah hopefully it's very win-win for everyone great thank you todd thanks
AppGratis functions as a global app discovery and distribution channel, connecting mobile users with curated daily promotions for free or discounted applications. The platform operates on a dual-sided model: providing consumers with a tool to discover high-quality software while simultaneously offering developers a mechanism to gain significant traction within the competitive mobile ecosystem. By focusing on non-incentivized downloads, the company emphasizes long-term sustainability and ethical growth, positioning itself as a value-added partner for both developers and app stores.
The business has achieved substantial scale, boasting a global community of 10 million users and over 3 million daily active users. Following a $13.5 million funding round in 2013, the company has aggressively expanded its footprint, operating in more than 30 markets with applications localized into 12 languages. This infrastructure allows for the delivery of up to 1.5 million installs per day for high-quality applications. The strategy relies on rapid international expansion, having moved headquarters from San Francisco to Paris before re-entering the United States and United Kingdom markets to solidify its leadership position.
Market growth serves as a primary driver for this expansion, with the mobile app industry projected to grow from $7 billion to $25 billion between 2012 and 2015. To maintain a competitive edge, the platform prioritizes high-quality, non-incentivized traffic, rejecting practices that artificially inflate download numbers. By fostering a win-win environment for users, developers, and the broader mobile ecosystem, the company aims to secure its role as a critical distribution channel in an increasingly crowded and fast-paced digital marketplace.
