Ubisoft
Ubisoft’s third-quarter financial update for fiscal year 2011-12 highlights a period of robust growth, with estimated sales reaching approximately €650 million. This figure represents an 8% increase over the €600 million recorded during the same period in the previous fiscal year and significantly outperforms the company’s initial guidance of €580 million to €620 million. The strong performance is attributed to successful holiday sales, particularly driven by the performance of Assassin's Creed Revelations and the high demand for the Just Dance franchise, alongside a notable rise in online sales.
Strategic adjustments accompany these financial results, most notably the decision to postpone the release of Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Future Soldier from the fourth quarter of fiscal 2011-12 to the first quarter of fiscal 2012-13. This delay is intended to provide development teams with additional time to ensure the title meets the quality standards expected of the franchise. Despite this shift in the release schedule, the company has revised its full-year financial targets upward. Annual sales are now projected to fall between €1,050 million and €1,080 million, while current operating income before stock-based compensation is forecasted to reach between €45 million and €65 million.
These preliminary estimates reflect the company’s global operations, which span 26 countries and over 55 markets. The data, which remains subject to audit and final confirmation, underscores a broader organizational effort to improve financial performance and move toward positive cash flow generation in the upcoming fiscal year. By balancing a diversified portfolio of titles for both casual and hardcore gamers, the company continues to navigate a highly competitive interactive entertainment landscape.
