The data highlights the continued dominance of established titles while showcasing the rapid monetization of newer entrants and the impact of seasonal consumer behavior.

Honor of Kings maintained its position as the highest-grossing mobile game globally, generating $258 million in December 2020, a 58 percent increase compared to the same period in 2019. Tencent’s PUBG Mobile followed with $177 million in revenue, reflecting a 7.5 percent year-over-year growth. Other notable performers included Genshin Impact, which reached $163.5 million in monthly revenue, and Pokémon GO, which concluded its most successful year to date with $159.3 million in December earnings.

Market dynamics shifted for several titles during this period. Genshin Impact saw a notable geographic transition, with Japan overtaking China as its primary revenue source, contributing 30.3 percent of its monthly total. Meanwhile, Roblox achieved its highest-ever monthly revenue of $138.7 million, bolstered by a single-day peak of $13 million on Christmas.
