but again like I'll show you some like uh unique uh information that I gathered specifically for this video and you see uh the first one here that uh tangent advertisers paining in Brazil and as you can see it holds a third place on Android 12 on iOS right so just to support the previous slide that there are like users there and moreover in terms of add Revenue hey everyone this is Roman from Tangen welcome to another episode of uh tangent AI 101 today I'm uh joined by Everton Vieira from easyplay Studio hi Everton hi Roman thanks for the invite hello everyone would be always a great pleasure to chat about this
industry Mysteries and shits yeah if you watch our previous episode uh with Everton we chatted about one of our reports and I invited him as an expert on Brazil that was back in 20122 if I'm not mistaken so yeah yeah pretty long time ago this time we'll focus specifically on Brazil um I've prepared like some of the slides with the help of Everton he pointed uh some like data points for me um yeah let me then share the slides that we've prepared and we can start discussing cool um first slide
uh this is actually from the north city research from 2024 uh we will have all of the links to the reports that we used in this presentation in the description of this video um so Everton Brazil had the largest game industry in Latin America both in terms of development capacity and po spending exactly and we keep growing year over year obviously like uh everyone else during this last two years we feel the the crisis I can say it's a polemic term right exactly what crisis we talking about but we know that something happened and not necessarily is a good thing in game industry and Brazil feel this too obviously so uh we try to avoid the great obstacles and and keep growing but we're very happy to reach this
uh this Milestone and the largest game industry and about market and Industry in the same time how did your business change like when we compared to 2022 you were working on mobile games looking into this like hybrid space What do you do now is it the same let's use you as an example good good point uh is a play we will complete uh 15 years old this year so a long journey jeez and uh I am proud to uh with my team to to throw the a lot of different eras in this last 15 years so we had a great experience in hyper casual between 20120 so we could manage to learn a lot about data driven fast prototyping that we learn doing hyper casuals we are proud to to be the f one one of the first maybe uh Brazilian
gaming Studios to think about hybrid casual games too even before the term appears and and get popular in market and the natural Next Step uh I can say that was the mood platform approach so now we keep looking to mobile as our official platform and official business model for to play but now we designed a game to get to to go good and free to playay um model and mobile platform but look into to PC and consoles right after we have good results on mobile gotcha uh so you launch a game on mobile and you test test it sort of and see what sort of metrics you have and then you go to other platforms like Steam and switch is it the business model now yeah seems like that yeah we explore mobile properly first right to avoid it to lose lost the focus
obviously mobile keep keep being the a better Revenue platform I can say so we try to exract uh as much we can in there and right after a succeed game a relevant project in there we start start to work in the port obviously we need to design the game considering the full platforms and different models but we start in fact to work in the port right after we have a I could we have a good result in Mobile that's the plan cool cool got it got it got it uh maybe if we have time at the end once we finish with the market analysis for Brazil you can show us uh how to do this because this is super interesting I've seen so many mobile games on a switch Market nowadays like from everywhere of course and more and more studios are doing it and actually I have no idea idea how it
is done and what are the processes so we can we can share a few Secrets today two in one Brazil and pting games um cool then let's go to the next one uh Brazil is the fifth largest market in the world in terms of online population with an estimated 103 million players um I I don't know this is a public fact but we have a uh we have a from long years a a a bizarre um exchange about our currency uh one $1 means six uh R in fact so a bizarre different economic speaking so this proof that our Brazilian gamers are are very passionate guys passionate players because although this huge difference economic speaking
we love games and we consume games like other yeah I mean I I have something to support that uh first here is a breakdown that I took from statista 83% Android 17% iOS yes what what sort of phone do you have Everton Android or iOS my phone is Android aha you see uh okay so also pretty ACC with Android User yeah nothing against Apple but interesting um but again like I'll show you some like uh unique uh information that I gathered specifically for this video and you see uh the first one here that uh tangent advertisers paining in Brazil and as you can see it holds a third place on Android 12 on iOS
right so just to support the previous slide that there are like users there and moreover in terms of add Revenue it's a fourth place on Android 11th Place on I iOS um meaning users are okay with uh watching ads and ecpm are not too low mhm and this is a maybe the most surprising in 2024 we seen that Brazil holds the fifth place uh on Android and 10 on iOS even though just to support your previous argument even though there is like this economical turbulence people are still okay with uh spending uh on inet purchases exactly right um now let's talk about the the
industry uh as you have said uh the industry has grown here we have we' seen like it's 10 times in 10 years and now there are like 1,000 developers um my question is what are they specialized on mobile or console gaming on what sort of games do they develop like good point good point talking uh about the the Brazilian industry in general uh I can say that uh have data U official data about that uh mobile is closer to 25% of our Studios Focus uh focus on mobile and the rest are splitted between uh PC consoles and or even web for example about platforms I I I think that this uh uh
worldwide Behavior Uh I think that PC and consoles grow a bit in the last uh two years maybe given this CPN holoc coaster CPI holoc coasters social network holoc coasters uh the studios looking more um with more interest in uh in PC and consoles platforms I think that's a worldwide Behavior but I think that is uh a mature think here in Brazil too is the industry start on looking to premium right is a more traditional approach and easier to understand at least approach and mobile Demands a bit more maturity a bit more business uh uh Vision I can say so I think that is natural the industry borns looking to premium first and year over year trying to split that Focus between mobile and PC so Brazil is is walking this in this
uh path I already no path yeah got it um 30,000 people as of 2023 uh was involved in uh gaming and uh here is a I'm not sure if that's yeah that was a surprise for me that the most part it's Outsourcing MH um usually see when the gaming industry develops in a country their Outsourcing share becoming less and the product driven is increasing mhm do you agree and if this is what happens in Brazil now I completely agree I think it is the same case about the maturity right we have we start to have more and more good professional but not necessar matur Studios to hire this professionals
right and is a bit comparing is not there is no easy way there is no uh easy shortcut about that but uh is a bit easier to offer uh uh programming art modeling and animation for a more experienced Studio abroad comparing to design their our own product in the studios here I think have great uh big companies here like puga and koku for example a great Outsourcing companies with a lot of users one more than 100 users uh but it's I think that's a mature thing too so I looking for more studio and I redu about the or sourcing looking for a like you mentioned a product driving right with more maturity in the next years makes sense um here's some money starts uh
from 2022 but still 251 million uh dollars was generated mhm um what what do you think still like the projection should be positive and it will increase uh about marketing I think that to keep growing obviously like I mentioned that we feel the the the crisis and in the last two years maybe we I can I if it was a bet I can bet I will bet something like one 1,000 studios in the same level in the in the last because uh I know a lot of unfortunately a lot of students that close the doors uh we had here the same um a few lay big layouts layoffs uh maybe the am out they Studios keep the same but the marketing Revenue uh I can say that keep growing you year over year right but what is the like if
there was like one thing to increase the revenue in the upcoming years what would what would it be uh I think I would say in up purchases because and freet to play obviously uh like I mentioned is a a mature is a natural Evolution about the players keep more confident uh using more and more free toplay games and feel more comfortable to spend money in and our purchases maybe I bet in in a better Revenue a higher Revenue year over year in this got it makes sense that's my last slide Everton um tur it back to you and let you find the some of uh the
slides for the porting part while Everton is searching for it give us a like ask your question uh about Brazil in the comments we'll try to answer them of course yeah subscribe to our Channel if you haven't subscribed yet and uh it's important to mention that we uh need to thank games to share the the data that we showed for today yes this amazing research is important to keep you looking for a overview about the marketing in in our country thanks Abra games for that yeah thanks Abra games so like we promis I can share a few uh secrets that we are doing here in our in our studio that can make it be uh useful for
