Summary

Riot Games has unveiled the structure and participating organizations for the 2025 League of Legends Championship of The Americas (LTA), a unified competitive ecosystem that replaces the previous LCS, LLA, and CBLoL leagues. The LTA is divided into two geographic conferences: the North Conference, based in Los Angeles, and the South Conference, based in Brazil. This restructuring aims to consolidate professional League of Legends play across North and South America into a single, cohesive framework.

The LTA North Conference features eight teams, including established organizations like Cloud9, Team Liquid Honda, and FlyQuest, alongside Lyon Gaming as the LATAM partner. The LTA South Conference includes prominent Brazilian organizations such as LOUD, FURIA, and paiN Gaming, with Leviatán serving as the LATAM partner. The league also incorporates provisional guest teams, such as 100 Thieves and Disguised in the North, and Isurus in the South, to maintain competitive depth.

The 2025 season will consist of three distinct splits, each utilizing different competitive formats. Split 1 features a double-elimination, best-of-three tournament in Fearless Mode, while Split 2 employs a double round-robin, best-of-one format followed by playoffs. Split 3 introduces a unique "Pick & Play" system, where teams select their opponents weekly based on performance. These stages culminate in the Americas Regional Championship, which determines the final qualification for international events. Additionally, Riot Games has introduced increased roster flexibility, allowing teams to designate one player from anywhere in the Americas as a local resident, effective for the season beginning January 25, 2025.
