Talon Esports and Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) have concluded their four-year partnership in League of Legends, effective January 5, 2025. The collaboration, which began in June 2020 under the PSG Talon brand, served to integrate PSG’s global sports brand recognition with Talon’s competitive infrastructure within the Asian esports market. The organizations cited shifting strategic priorities as the primary driver for the dissolution of the co-branded League of Legends roster, which will now operate solely under the Talon name.
The partnership was marked by significant competitive success, yielding seven championship titles in the Pacific Championship Series (PCS) and four qualifications for the League of Legends World Championship. Despite the end of this specific joint venture, the broader business relationship between the two entities remains partially active. Talon continues to maintain PSG branding on its Rainbow Six Siege team, and both organizations have expressed an openness to future collaborative opportunities.
This development reflects a broader trend of strategic recalibration within the esports industry. While the League of Legends alliance has ended, PSG maintains its commitment to the esports sector through its continued operations in titles such as EA FC and Arena of Valor. The move highlights the fluid nature of high-profile esports sponsorships, where organizations frequently adjust their portfolios to align with evolving long-term business objectives.
