Create free account[Music] thank you guys for coming I'm Francesca Baron I'm a performance coach for the sim Jeung Flying Tigers a basketball CBA team playing in China and for those of you don't know cynjohn in the Far West of China up north it's very beautiful province and the best Chinese food you're not on the wrong place we're going to talk about the his port and how it can change the future of our kids improving their physical activity I'm also an entrepreneur as last year I found in Hong Kong a startup called LG q Limited which aim to unify the video games world with the traditional sport world and also the president of X a basket the first sport Association in the world that has video games inside is
regulations so interesting topic how can we possibly use the eSport to improve physical activities so from static activity like playing video games to a physical activity let's start to say eSport is not a sport I know there is a big debate around that eSport people are saying we are like the chest we are like with the golf players but the truth is that at the moment this part is not recognized as a sport you can bring all the positive points like there is it can be beneficial for our kids it can make good money for them but this is the truth this is the fact we cannot denied what is the main reason well sport by definition is a physical activity that required a certain extension and skills we can still stay here the whole morning to talk about it but we cannot change that but even if a sport is not considered as a sport we
need to say that is taking a big attention on the media for example in the United States you can see the high school eSports League the National Association College eSports and also university are given away scholarship to student athletes to pray to play for them right game recently have found the governing body for the n-c-double-a after they decided to not support the the frame of his poor governance in worldwide British eSports for high school and colleges in Norway and Finland the eSport community is really present and is also recognized as a official sport in from Finland Federation bachelor's degree master's degrees in Russia China Finland and UK and in China more than 900 university has already an eSport program actually a recent news saying stating that the estimate demand for the eSport industry
employees is 260 thousand people while at the moment in China there are only 50,000 people employed with the eSports so going to the next what are the benefits of eSports definitely there are some research that have declare and measure the benefits of eSports at the moment and it's and eye coordination critical thinking improve problem-solving better multitasking skills increase the memory capacity and speed of recalling special information from long-term memory finally which i think is the most important team aggregation I think that team aggregation and bringing the kids out of the rooms out of the dorms to a place where to associate and being together as the best things of the eSports but as good fingers fingers that we can be where there are some some bad also sorry
there are like some doubt about the eSports for example the Mark Emmert the NCAA double president said that we know a lot of contact is hugely misogynistic we know that some of the contact is really violent and we don't particularly embrace games where the objective is to blow your opponent's head off we know there are serious concern about the health and wellness around us games so when to investigate which are the concern about these games which are they have to risk correlated to the overuse of video games going from muscle pain obesity aggressive behavior portrayed in school I problem which was a big concern in China recently effect over performance and productivity lack of energy increased level of anxiety increased level of depression lack of vitamin D sleep deprivation attention problems social isolation confusion about the
reality and fiction mobile game addiction and finally I did the internet gaming disorder the scientific world is and the research is not really helping on this because it seems like there is a lot of confusion there are many research that state is videogames as negative but recently there are also other research that are proving like the video games can be beneficial especially for the cognitive of the young generation but the truth is that the children now are exposed to the phone and Technology before they can write their name with a pen and this is a fact we don't know what is going to happen in 20 + or 50 years for now we know that an eSport team trained from Tuesday to Friday with games on Friday on Saturday and Sunday between the eight and the 12 hours per day and some of the players still gonna play solo on Monday I'm
aware that the top eSports team they have good training facilities they have a nutritionist they have a physical trainer and it just access to the gym but what about all the other players what about you is not professional how can we go to a school director to a parent's meeting and talking about eSports while they are worried of the consequences that can affect their children even if we show them all the nice number all the revenues that were before to demonstrate how the industry is growing the League of Legends fans will follow more than NF NFL if we cannot demonstrate that the eSport can be can be really beneficial for the of the kids it's really hard that to reach them the same level of the sports what if we would be able to add physical activity to eSports what if we could unify the video games to the traditional
sport which are the benefits of including a physical activity in a sedentary activity first of all reduce obesity risk combat health conditions diseases like stroke metabolic syndrome high blood pressure diabetes type 2 reduce depression reduce anxiety improve mood boost level of energy improve the quality of sleep improve sexual life reduce serotonin produce serotonin hormone and dopamine which are the hormone of happiness improves self-esteem and postpone osteoporosis that is how we can enter in the school transforming the eSport from a co-educational sport to a real subject we are I finally to my story that I will explain how the I had this idea and how the eSport is a sport and how the school can choose to embrace a new way of
promoting physical activity so around one year ago I was a performance coach for the Chanel parts which is a still a basketball team in change and these are some of my players I'm just short because I didn't have shoes and we with the juniors we always go playing tournaments around China we were like in Shaanxi I don't remember the exact name of the city but definitely it was not a good good hotel maybe like a half star hotel not really good food bad weather so I was in a breaking point and you know the the breaking point when you have your mind saying to you run away what are you doing here get out to give up and not this kind of message because I strongly believe that when you are in the breaking point in the hard situation of your life you also give the best of yourself to get stronger to overcome and this Michael burner back we say the the pain push until the vision pool so I
was in my room and alone I start to meditating visualizing and I some questions start to pop on my mind how the sport is gonna be in 20 years in 50 years in 100 years would be the same as it today with the basketball as we know it today still exist how can we be so arrogant to think that the sport is not gonna change if you think in the past also the Maya I'm sure they didn't expect to end or the black and white TV and the CD players didn't expect to finish when they were on top of their success as blockbuster going from the best company in the world to be almost bankruptcy so after asking me all this question I I start to evaluate and made a kind of a new model of sport and if you want you can imagine also with me
basically you can imagine every high schooler or the University basketball court or even a playground or arena bigger and around the world that you're familiar with the court is very similar to basketball which inside there are 10 players playing what I have called eggs a basket on the sideline there's going to be ten players competing in any multiplayer video game that you can imagine so on the exit basket court there would be five and five with the ball while on the sidelines of the court there will be a five on five on the computer mobile or mobile phone the video games will have the possibility to influence life the things that are happening on the court so that based on the video game results the AXA basket game will change this will be possible thanks to our lgq technology that will connect any multiplayers device any multi players game to the court I'll
repeat it again because I know is not easy at the beginning the beta games players through our technology will influence the court in where the traditional sports player on a plane and doing so it will change the response of their game this will create a very fast and highly entertaining game synergic Lee influenced by the video games in the mass distribution in the school university you can imagine like at the end of every period the gate the people that were the players that were playing on the court they gonna go on the video games so everyone at the end of the game will they play both game the real game on the court and the mobile game on the on the screen there are of course many different options - that can modify what is depending on the court as there are many different option of creating different sport at this moment we have already created the first Association
Koenig's a basket in Switzerland which as I said before in his official rules of the video games presents the concept that I want you to understand is that a video game can be part of a sport event it can actually be a real sport doing so every school would have said something that is entertaining is if fun is new but also concerning about the health of the students at ljq we've been working with my team and with my general manager Ferdinand dominici on a clear goal at this time we have already completed the first two steps so we have our multiplayer game called eggs a game which is connected to a basketball court and we have the first Federation called eggs Abbas squad in Switzerland the next step is gonna be generally 2020 the first exit event in Hong Kong and after that we're gonna start with the guandong
in the guangdong area shenzhen and da one school to the first trial project so entering from the school and our main goal set up for July 2020 is going to be the first professional events in Shenzhen and in the first professional event we're gonna show the fully and the normal potential of the eczema scale as not only ten video gamers will have the chance to influence the game but every one with the phone so it's a game changer I think it's a sport revolution just imagine if you could participate with your phone to a real sport event how differently would you engage with the team or that sport not only as a fan of spectator but really as a player Mika before was talking about the problem of engaging the 50 years old American following the sport I think this can be
a way to engage the people that also they are not so familiar with the eSports with the video game in the moment that they can feel themselves part of a real game it can be a game changer I want to leave you with the one one photo villain mask the first step is to establish that something impossible and then probability will occur thank you for your attention you know there are some children or students in China that they asked their parents that they would like to stop their education and then go to a sports and their parent is very confusing about eSports and they or they are very struggling about their children
resilience the choice about this and they would say they would like their children to go to school and give up the in sport in some parents they would like their children to go after in sports and then if they find these boys and okay for them then they go to a school so what's your opinion about the situation in China thank you well I think it's a it's really interesting as n/m aware that as I said before the parents are are worried for their kids because I live in China I know how is it going around on the Starbucks and everywhere just you see kids since they eight years old or watching the phone what I'm trying to create here is to give a message for the new generation that we see how the the new generation are shifting from from a sport from a health and physical activity always more to a game and video game activity the message
here is to trying to do both and still keep the health side the health part growing so just don't give up when you are 14 or 15 your your physical activity for just the video game keep doing both yeah that's the other one is for students that they you don't want them to give up the school and so yes I try to of course college and then finish the college and then go to and then choose what they would like to do yes thank you [Music]
The integration of esports into educational environments presents a significant opportunity to address the sedentary nature of modern gaming while fostering physical health among students. The primary thesis posits that by unifying traditional physical sports with digital gaming, institutions can create a hybrid model that mitigates the health risks associated with excessive screen time—such as obesity, anxiety, and social isolation—while leveraging the cognitive and social benefits of competitive gaming.
Current industry data highlights a massive disparity between the demand for esports professionals and the existing workforce. In China alone, the estimated demand for industry employees is 260,000, yet only 50,000 are currently employed. Despite this growth, esports faces skepticism from educators and parents due to concerns regarding violence, misogyny, and the physical health of players who may train for up to 12 hours daily. To bridge this gap, the proposed solution involves a new sporting model where digital gameplay directly influences the outcomes of a physical match on a basketball court. By requiring participants to engage in both physical activity and digital strategy, this approach transforms esports from a sedentary activity into a holistic, co-educational subject.
The initiative, currently being piloted through the X-a-Basket association in Switzerland, utilizes proprietary technology to connect multiplayer gaming devices to physical court environments. Following successful initial trials, the project aims to expand into school systems in the Guangdong region of China by 2020. This model seeks to revolutionize student engagement by allowing spectators and players to interact with live sports through mobile devices, ultimately encouraging a balanced lifestyle that prioritizes both academic achievement and physical well-being.
