The primary driver of this performance was the Digital Entertainment segment, which generated 49.9 billion yen in net sales and 15.5 billion yen in operating income. Within this segment, the HD Games sub-segment experienced a notable surge, with net sales rising to 17.7 billion yen due to the successful launch of new titles and strong catalog sales. The MMO sub-segment also contributed to growth, with net sales reaching 12.7 billion yen, supported by increased player activity ahead of upcoming expansion releases. Additionally, the Smart Devices and PC Browser sub-segment benefited from new title contributions, posting 19.4 billion yen in net sales.
Secondary business segments also demonstrated positive momentum. The Amusement segment reported 17.0 billion yen in net sales, bolstered by higher same-store sales and prize item demand. The Publication segment grew to 7.2 billion yen, driven by increased comic volume sales, with digital media accounting for 59% of the segment's total revenue. The Merchandising segment rounded out the results with 4.6 billion yen in net sales, fueled by character merchandise based on major intellectual properties. The company maintains a stable financial position, concluding the quarter with 259.6 billion yen in cash and deposits.
