14K followers. Pretty active. The the Reddit is very active. So there's 40K weekly visitors on the Reddit.
You see there?
What?
Yes.
Yes. There. And and and the Discord.
Okay. So Jagbucks Entertainment
57,000 members.
[ __ ] hell.
On Discord.
Nice.
Currently online 11,000. Yeah. So that's there. That's why this game works.
It's rolling the dice. [music] Felix with making those coins rise. Jack up designs worlds chasing the sky. We're [music] the two and a half gamers. The midnight crew talking UA adverts and game design too. Mel [music] bringing the insight. We're rocking those vibes to the early daylight. Mua master eyes on the prize. Tracking data through the cyber space. Feeling stacks dollars [music] like a wizard in disguise. Japanese crafts lift us to the highest. Two and a half gamers [music]
talking smack. Slow hockey sick. Got your back. Ads are beautiful. They like the way. Click it fast. Don't delay. Uh-huh. Uh-huh. Aha. Ah. [music] Hello. Okay, so we're talking about Idle Obelisk today and or was the what's the name the full name of the game?
Yeah, Idle Obelisdelisk.
Idle Minor. Obelisk Minor.
Idle Obelisk Minor. And why? Like why are you laughing?
Yeah.
One of these. It's going to be one of these games that Yakob loves cuz it's set in next door and it's like Japanese and then there's a bear and there's a VCR and it's like super clever game mechanics.
I wish Japanese He has still his
He has still his tra trauma from Zelda Zone Zero with the VR shop.
Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
I was playing this and it's an idol game without ads.
I was I was actually playing this game also. He's like, "Oh, this game is like crack." And I was like, "What the [ __ ] is he talking about?"
Yeah.
I was playing for 20 minutes.
I'm level seven here. I've gone down mines and I haven't found any crack. Like
Yeah. I have I wish I had no idea what's happening. [snorts]
Yes. Okay. My name is Matthew.
Oh, Felix Bra and I will speaking the whole episode. It's
very good. Yes, because the UA sucks. There's no ads and you love this game and we are your hosts. So, perfect. Let's start.
So, let's go. This will be this will be one of those episodes like the tower
level
or level devil or whatever any of these one man hit wonders because this is a oneman hit wonder. Love these games. So right off the bat you see that there's lots of like this old school text. This looks like those game from
Yes. Perfect. You don't really need
Yeah, you don't really need like any type of art purely by mechanics and design. This game is just pure pure design. I'm interested in hearing like what mechanics can I borrow from this game.
Yes.
And reuse somewhere else.
Um you see for instance there like this is I haven't played the game today yet. So this is the loadup screen and you see that game completion is 0.64% even though I'm playing this for a week already. Just saying they have extensive options for people to kind of modify their setup what to do. For instance, here you see consume current item and buffs timers to improve offline gains that you can switch on and switch off. There's another mechanic I don't even have because skate behind no belly skating which I'm not. Then you have these literally like it's a company report of like what happened when you were offline. How many ores did you get? How many bombs did you throw? How many like you see there's four other reports that I cannot see because I haven't
unlocked them. Felix is
throwing up ass. Feelings is already throwing away his hair. And then we go to the beautiful, beautiful game where there's a loot bug going every few and now and then where you can get something for free or hard currency and no ads. No ads at all. [laughter]
So it's going to be like 10 minutes.
Yeah, it's going to be designed for this very small niche and you know Yeah. Good.
Yeah, it's very small niche. This game is done completely without any tutorial, any hints.
Exactly. any any explanations? Nothing.
This is an old school game. There's uh if I put in there's like the old mono music of like Sound Blaster from the '9s.
It's like here's the game. Figure it out. I don't care if you don't. If you do, amazing.
No, like that's that's the targeting. Like this is a game that looks like a game from 1995. like you know old school Tyrion or old school whatever like some
of like
Call of the Shadows Raptor or whatever like this is one of those games the text the graphics and and the on boarding
on boarding
toughness is [laughter] the same ex like literally figure out everything yourself you fail we don't care
exactly that's what I said exactly if you figure out great you are the target audience if you don't [ __ ] off pretty much [laughter] that's it like that's it
is not for you anyway and we don't care
yeah exactly yeah you you don't need to try you don't need to Right. It's okay.
Yeah.
I was looking at it for 10 minutes. I was like,
"What's happening?
What am I supposed to do?"
Yes.
Then I was [laughter] click I was like, "Okay, so I need to like harvest these ores or whatever." I was like, "Okay, is this it?" Most mobile games leave serious revenue on the table. Kinoa is the AI operating system for mobile game operations, flows, live segments, inner messages, push notifications, AB testing, all in one place. real time run by the operators who actually own the numbers. No dev tickets. Ky first pulled plus 43% Arabdo play studios plus 31%
revenue on that block party. Same players more revenue integrated hours. That's Kinoa. I personally invested as well. Thank you very much for sponsoring this episode. Yeah, let me go to like stone age like when like you start with the first level and maybe let me turn off my drone army so we can actually play something. So this is how the game starts where you get these ores and what you do you need to mine them with with this like pickaxe or whatever because my pickaxe is currently doing like 300 damage whatever it's just like you know going around them and and that's it. And you mine them and like what do you do with the mine ore? You upgrade them that you can mine faster. So you go here and you go to upgrades and you upgrade your pickaxe and you upgrade your pickaxe radius, crit chance, whatever. Like all these other shits like there's [ __ ] ton of upgrades. And as you see, I haven't even listed how many upgrades there are to kind of go there into world four.
So yeah, you have upgrades. There was just one tab. Then you craft ingots from these ores as usual because of course we cannot craft from ores. You have these ingots and ingots have different like ratios of like how many ores you need to get one. Why? Because they have a lot of mechanics on crafting. For instance, if we go something I have to craft this one. So see if I push this, you see like craft times two, craft time 20, free craft or whatever and or a lot of these other kind of a stuff that like you can get here. for instance, like times 20 and so on so forth or for free or whatever time five like because there's a chance like it's literally see like a crit chance basically. So because again I unlock lot of mechanics here. Uh these scale as usual with idlers forever like I think they have if you go to upgrades there's usually like two upgrades per ore from the same ore and I can upgrade my
pickaxe by 171 levels which means that leaves them somewhere around like around 80 ores if I'm conservative. So, and I have unlocked currently how much. Yeah. So, you see how how and this is still world one and this will reset. There are four worlds is long. It's like extremely long progression. Like it's like very very long progression because idol games suffer from this. And again in this game you need to do prestige. Prestige is literally like prestige reset, get permanent bonus points for next round. Next round goes faster, yada yada yada. As you see here, lots of stuff to go there. [snorts] Uh the good thing is that there's lots of automation here. So later down the line, the game introduces you to drone. These drones will mine this for you. So you don't need to do anything. Again, very handy. Uh the one single upgrade in the shop, which I
think is the best thing in the world, is permanent drone unlocks an additional drone. So it again gives you 100 times more pretty much crafting speed because there are now two drones doing the same thing. You have these chests with consumables that you can open from time to time. Epic chest with skills which are just like basically free passive trees. And you see how slowly these mechanics are being unlocked as you go because there's like store workshop where you have these other permanent upgrades for on the bombs skill tree which I cannot even because I don't have skills. one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight other mechanics that I cannot even unlock because there's this obsidian stone, which is basically their boss mechanic. And how it works is that you go here, you eat all the boosters for your pickaxe, which is basically this one. This one I have, this one I have. For a few minutes, I can like increase my damage quite significantly. I go here and I
just press the button and that's it. And this is like a gating mechanic that tells you like how strong you are. So we unlock other stuff in the game for you. You literally just press the button and it's like the DPS is on top right, the damage is on top left. And you see that I'm doing whatever like 1 million and the thing has like 8 million HP.
Yeah. Yeah. So you have 10 more seconds and then you're done. So you're not
done to achieve it the way from it and this takes like ages. But again
Yeah. And then you need to upgrade.
Yeah. So this is like as of a simple gating mechanic as it gets. It's just like we check your DPS. That's it. If you haven't further, again, you get whatever increase to level cap, some gems, some new mechanic. That's it. Thank you very much.
Again, everything is automated. So, that's the good thing with these things. So, for instance, now I'm in space and I can just leave it like this and it will automatically just go to the next position. All these other like idle idle stuff, like for instance, here you have these bombs are being now thrown by automation. There's like chain bombs or
whatever. Plenty bombs, experience bombs, [ __ ] ton of stuff. Actually, they're pretty cheap in some ways because they give you every 10 minutes they give you this free chest that gives you five hard currency, which is quite generous, I would say, based on the like upgrades that you can do here. And like all these, like these are all permanent upgrades that you can get even in the shop. By the way, this is the whole selling thing. Like just this is the anchor gems and this is the like few offers here.
Scroll that on iOS. It's so hard to scroll cuz they make it slow on purpose. I have no idea why.
Oh, really? Emulator master race. Just look at the options. Like these are the options. You see how many options they have? like how can you modify the game and even lock stuff that I can access like just quality of life settings is like auto
loot free loot bug off for remove like for I don't need to even click on the loot back so it will just pretty much go there remove loot back gem confir enable loot all like I don't even know what this is so it's been fine- tuned and tinkered to the maximum like you see that and I'm guessing that if I go on Reddit or whatever like their communities will be pretty big on Discord So because this is like a as niche as it gets, therefore it has extremely power power power- based community. I'm I'm guessing like all the users are pretty much fanatics exploring this.
Yes.
So you go continue. Yeah. Yeah. Uh there's also an event playing around which is also pretty nice. So you have this
very nice automated event where it's just a basically a DPS check where you go there, you just upgrade stuff here. You can use the good thing is that you can use hard currency to speed it up. And Felix is definitely trying to upgrade it now by typing the keyboard so loudly.
It's fine. Don't don't worry. I can I can I can I can work my magic on.
And then you you again you have these other tier upgrades that you just you know go in and like update all these things. So the guy just
So what do you get in the in this event?
What do you get? You get the rewards which are rewards into the permanent progression as usual. So, chest, skills, roads, even skins, by the way,
like summer event miner loot buck skin. I don't know what does. And then at the end of the there's back skins like
basically some Yeah. So, like some stuff
on the porium. You can even buy stuff again. So, it's it's done actually properly like this is this is done pretty well because you can speed up the event by hard currency. You get pretty good stuff from it. It's completely again on automation.
Yeah. Okay. Yeah.
And what happens if you die? You need to upgrade this. I see upgrades. Yes. Okay.
He dies and he restarts and like that's it. Just get stuck. So, but I can again prestige him, upgrade him, and do all these other things with him. So, it's like a
Oh, I see.
automated progression that just Huh.
Did you kill the
this one? No. Like I can go again at it
at it's every 20 minutes you can go on the obelisk and and then
and the event looks like it's it's happening for the whole summer, right? It ends in 24 days. So, it's like long long long event basically. So that's there. If I go into prestige, as I said, like I go here, I prestige, lose all my upgrades, and go basically back to stone age. And now all these things needs to be progressed again pretty much. But again, because I did prestige, I can now again sum my new artifacts, [snorts] have these all like permanent upgrades, which you can feed into like the other idle progression. So it's miners's paradise basically.
Yeah, exactly.
I mean, this is the game that you play with Excel sheets. This is the game that you engage around with community people. This is the game that gives you
uh even better in my opinion.
Really?
Yeah. For me, this is better because there's much more customization. Tower isn't this advanced. Like tower I don't think so have that many mechanics as this game compared to like what you can do with idol like what because they for
instance they even sell these ores in tower. You don't prestige if I understand.
Yeah. No no no you don't. No,
you don't. you just upgrade stuff and like progress and like do do things with and and their prestige mechanic is done pretty well. Like this is usually the part where idle games fail because it like has hits like a diminishing returns very early good metrics and then longterm it goes to [ __ ] This looks really good and it looks really good. Why? because they have a lots of these additional toys basically [snorts] these new mechanics that they will throw at you as you as you continue which will
it's actually close to unfolding game where as you progress there's like new mechanic and new mechan and it switches the game play because for instance you know I was picking this up with pickax before I didn't use the pickax and like at all but its damage is still counted into the drones and into the bombs and into the obelisk so they still work with it but they automate it so they move my engagement time to different mechanics which are more engaging than the ones that I started with. So, this is like unfolding game. So, yeah, as old school as it gets, as
hardcore as it gets, and as tough to get into, I guess, as it gets because it's
very tough to get into, man. I mean, again, like I I spend like 15 or 20 minutes figuring out like what what the hell is happening. And I was like, you know what? Like, I'm
Yakob will explain it to us.
Yeah. Like, yeah, I will leave it to Yakob because he's like, oh, this is crack. Oh my god.
It's really nice. Like, once once you start playing, it's really nice. But again, it it gets stuck eventually. But again, it's about pacing. Like lots of these games are about pacing because you overshoot the pacing and you just do like times two on every single multiplayer. It gets out of hand fast. So again, with progressions, you know, you unlock one progression, in the meantime, you unlock another progression which you can continue going through while you're stuck in the previous one. And this cycle goes forever. So eventually you are feeling that you're progressing always when you get stuck in the previous progressions. which both Felix and Matty didn't know the [ __ ] what I just said.
I have no idea.
I could spend my time on Admon here telling how just because a game has idol
in it, it should have ads and how this game could earn $10,400 a day with rewarded ads. But the thing is, I guess with games like this,
the community hates ads so much. Yes.
And then the virality will go down. Even though they had ads in the tower and in Level Devil, but
well, Level Devil was Level Devil's
We should do Level Devil again, by the way, because it's been bought now and it's scaling like crazy. So, we should
We can talk about it later. This is idle obelisk miner. Okay, let's [laughter] let's stay with this game. And you know what? We can do numbers.
Numbers. Let's do numbers.
And
yeah, numbers looks really great. Yeah, because this game is actually 3 years old starting in February 2023 and it's this typical indie success where you see that is literally crawling on the floor doing nothing like first few months is like 40k 30k whatever nothing nothing I
mean sorry first few years not months and then suddenly somewhere I guess here like August last year it suddenly starts to scale I think it's because they finally hit a proper feature set of all of these things as they accumulate more and more features as they go. So the game now is robust enough to keep users rather than get users and users leave because there's not enough content. So it's like a retention play I think where the retention curve finally went positive on them. What's the retention on this? We don't have a curve. We don't have a curve. Too small for curve. Whatever.
It's not a lot of users.
What? It's not a lot of users. That's the thing.
Of course, because this is all core users. So, but you see that it's doing record revenue actually nowadays.
Did anyone say web revenue? Oh, yeah. This episode is brought to you by Fastpring, the no drama D2C partner that's been scaling with mobile
publishers for over 20 years. They're fast growing, profitable, and seriously reliable, which is more than you can say about most vendors in this space. Anyway, whether you're launching a new web store, replacing your current system, or adding a backup plan, Fast Spring is here for you. Visit fastspring.gg to set up your web store today. Fastpring.gg. Hello fast brain. Thank you very much guys for sponsoring this episode all the way to something like 100k a day on IPS which is looking unheard of even on miniscale downloads of like 4k 5k downloads a day and uh again if you look at country filter you see that this is pristine tier one traffic all of it is
tier one traffic basically
except friends France is tier one. What do you mean?
You simply have a terrible France.
Yeah, but it's 40,000 people. 400,000 revenue, man. Like seriously.
Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
The revenue per insta is insane.
Like we can get those numbers, man. See, this is the DAU. So, they're like what? 30% US, 60% India, and then it's all like nearly all tier one. And if we go, let me go revenue. What do we want? revenue per downs or though
both
also retention because we know the retention
have retention already.
Yeah, it's true.
What do we want to go against? Golden goblins or which one?
We can golden goblins could be quite good comparison.
I think this this got bogged down. Okay, so revenue
and this insane
revenue per download is now
$13. Yeah, but you know, like the CPI is must be just [ __ ] insanely high, honestly.
Or is it just word of mouth like some they did? They did. I'm not sure like what happened because now it looks like they they stopped in
August. Yeah, it's like Golden is like
$3 and I'm giving them more, I guess.
Yeah, but look look look at the look at the downloads. See, like 65 million versus 900,000. you're not going to get the same like revenue per download.
I know. I know. But this as I said these like if you capture these fanatics they will spend like there's no tomorrow because this
that I agree with that I agree with.
Yeah. Yeah.
It's a viable business model if you can capture this niche like
Yeah. I mean Yeah. If you can guess
you will not get copied. You will get nobody will give a crap about this.
Yeah. For sure. No. Of course. Yeah. I can Yeah. Exactly. Ardow is what? Yeah, one one and a half dollar against 22
cents of course. But that's but it's mostly because again throughout those four years they snowballed all these paying users. They have insane retention and like only now they can they can do that. What's currently the top one in idle category? So we can go against like a
I have no idea man.
Number one.
I don't think we can compare this against an idler though cuz he's not built like a normal idler and it's not
he's not idle yet. I know I know I know. Oh, XPA hero is so so high.
Yeah, I mean the tower maybe let's let's let's pull it against the tower. That's a good example.
Tower is number three.
It's number two. It's right behind the idle obus is right behind the tower.
Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Like idle category is kind of small these days, but it's still quite quite popular where we were. So what's the tower? The tower. The tower is a very good comparison. So let's see what's the tower. basically double the AR of tower but
still tower is like $7. That's like similar to that arda wise that's also still three times higher but it's also because this game has giant spend dep like you you underestimate how much you can spend in this game and all those upgrades like it gives you nothing because the moment you spend you just progress to higher stage which completely auto adjusts to your current progression and there you see how many upgrades there are.
Yeah. I'm guessing the spend of this game like if I look here into these upgrades is going into few tens of thousands like this is definitely within something like 40 to 50k. Last time we checked what was the the tower defense game from hobby defender.
Yeah, I think that was like more than 50k. I just like estimated that or whatever. So this is this is even more for sure like this this this will be so
much more. I mean
how do you go about building a niche product like this?
You love it.
Yeah, exactly. You build it for yourself. Love it. You build it for yourself.
Yeah. And then some people happen to like it. [snorts]
Some people making like Yeah.
You love it and some people happen to have the business understanding that they need to build it with high spend depth. That's what happens. No, no, no. Like really there's people building projects for themselves all the time. It's all our [ __ ] but only few are like even in these niche games, you still don't see the thousands that fail that they do nothing.
Yeah. Yeah. Fair enough.
And again, keep in mind this is need to be unique and original enough to kind of capture this this niche there. There needs to Yeah. crazy enough. There needs to be this niche. There's this giant attention to detail which is like a single single single signature mark of these games where again who the [ __ ] if I go here would even bother with these functionalities in a normal game like show minor at the top of the UI.
Yeah. Like who cares? Who who cares?
See this like
Yeah. How much time did you wasted on coding this functionality?
But people like you love this [ __ ]
Exactly. and their quality of life things that they want from this game.
You remember what I said with with Royal Smash? I hate the [ __ ] pig king.
Yeah,
this is it.
This is it just here.
The pig king.
Yes, this is it. Just here like all these like small details. That's why I wouldn't play that much of royal smash. Rather, I would rather play Smash Fest because of that [ __ ] pick.
And this is very similar. Like I care about those details. I don't know because again I'm guessing that this is either a very small team or single guy. I'm still guessing he's a single guy and he goes there most probably goes on Redditis miner Reddit. How much is this? 14K followers. Pretty active. Yes, of course. Yeah. Yeah. The the Reddit is very
active. So there's 40k weekly visitors on the Reddit. You see there?
What?
Yes.
Yes. That's there. And and and the discord I risk minor discord is what? Idle base minor discord.
Okay. So checkbox entertainment
57,000 members.
[ __ ] hell. on Discord.
Nice.
Currently online 11,000. Yeah. So, that's there. That's why this game works. Oh, hello. Hello there. I didn't see you. Thank you very much for coming to this episode. Uh, it's brought to you by our sponsors, PVX Partners, the simplest and most effective credit line for

So, okay. So, we have this.
What's the DA on this?
Oh, 50K. So, also look. So, Tiscord.
Yeah, hold Discord. Checkbox Entertainment is a tiny Northern Irish indie studio built around one developer. Then one developer is called Alex William Olds based in Northern Ireland. UK company's houses blah blah blah. Only director and the person controlling 75%
of the company. This company was incorporated in December 2019. So, Alex is the creator behind idle Obelisk Miner. He describes himself publicly as a games developer, designer, and programmer and says he started Obelisk as a messing around project in early 2022 because before deciding to keep developing it. So, his philosophy is unusually anti-mo game. No ads, no pull popups with purchases isolated in dedicated store. Oh my god.
And this is as I
said now.
Yeah, exactly.
Yeah. Yeah. It's a like one man wander again. This is a oneman wander game.
Yes, it is.
It is. And yeah,
you can't, you know, you can't reproduce the authent authenticity. You can't again make this like different whatever.
Why is it exploding? Community posts from July 2026 talk about player founder
count moving from roughly 30k to 40k quickly with users mentioning creator sponsorships and migration from the tower. So he's stealing a lot of tower players.
He's stealing a lot of tower players. Yeah.
It's like very similar to tower as I said.
Yeah. Yeah.
And he has much better economy than the tower.
Yep.
And honestly this is easier to get into than the tower. And also I know that that like for you it's both like no go but still on boarding is easier than because this game I understood
without me going on the internet looking for tactics which the tower will crush you. You cannot understood that you need to do turtle farm whatever [ __ ]
So also this game appeals to old school Runescape players a lot.
Of course like the graphics and everything.
Yeah. Exactly. Yeah. Yeah.
This is basically Runescape online. I feel like I'm in that old mind where you need to, you know, you need to dig your way out of the mind.
Yeah. Yeah. And these guys are saying like the at least on on on Reddit that
I'm I'm kind of reading right now, they found out about the game from like few creators on YouTube. [snorts]
So yeah, after playing
say where idle obelisk
looking for YouTube.
Yeah, I am. I'm trying checking this, but it's okay. I mean,
the same guy that did the tower video.
There you go. Yeah, [laughter]
that I was looking for, of course.
So, what do we have here? By How do I sort it? By popular or what? What's the
Yeah, like by views.
By views watched.
Filters on the right [snorts] hand side there. And then prioritize relevance and popularity. popularity on the right
popularity. Okay,
there you go.
7.6 million.
But that's Yeah, that's landscape. I already saw Yeah, I already saw this. But then there's like 30k views which is not bad though. So,
but everything is like so small then.
It is very small.
Okay.
20K. But you remember 20K views for 40k DA is quite a lot.
Yes. 20K views for 40k D.
It's like it's
it's all by this guy the the guy that that does the tower.
Nice. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. He's the guy.
Yeah. Yeah. He's an idol games guy. No.
Yes, pretty much. Like this is this is your UA. I mean, they had like few UA stuff, but
more subs than this guy.
Yeah, fair enough. Fair enough. But he has Yeah. Some of their
He has niche games. He has niche games.
Exactly. Niche games. We have few more thousand views than this guy as well. Okay.
Yeah. Yeah.
Not discounting the the player base and views and whatnot for I globalist coiner.
Oh, no. This is the thing again. You cannot find a game that's this complex on
and you cannot compete with like especially now that they have like three years of content.
Exactly. He has he has that.
Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Exactly.
So you will just play this because it's like so good
and there's very kind of light
monetization compared to everything else on the market. So of course it's like sucking up all these like hardcore veteran players. So what was the what was the demo? I want to see the demo. Uh, acquisition usage demo. Where where's the demo? Sorry, we couldn't load this. Okay, overloaded it. Sorry. Sorry.
Sorry.
Yeah, globalist miner.
I'm guessing it will be extremely old. for the for the demography like 80%.
Okay. For for sure
and it will be old. Yeah.
Not that old.
But yeah, average age 30. 75 versus 24.
Okay. That's still
But 25 34 is I would Yeah, I would think it's 35 plus honestly. 5% man. Yeah.
Yeah. Yeah.
Oh, like this is again one of those very nice heartwarming oneman wonder stories that the guy built his pet project into his living and now he's swimming in money.
Yeah. And you even tried like a little bit of UA but I mean it's Facebook and a little bit of Google and now it's even stopped. So I mean let's say the last 12 months
it's all organic basically. Yeah, it's kind of I don't think it's like very big because I mean you have
still more than past traffic fe Yeah, exactly. But no, no, no. Last 30 days. Last 30 days is 30. It's the same. It's the same almost the same although I mean yeah again like I don't think
yeah these are this is a video like
5second video like okay whatever. again. I mean, you can clearly see
he tries. He tries.
Yeah, exactly. Yeah, he tried and he did Facebook because it's easy. He did a little bit of Google because it's easy, but that's it. And if you if you run this on apply, you will fail most probably.
So, I told my boss I made a playable [music] with Playable Maker and he said to me, "What language did you code it in?" And I said, "I don't know. With Playable Maker, all you do is drag, [music] drop, click, and it does it all for you." So, again, he said, "What language did you make it in?" I mean, I don't know English. At the end of the day, as long as a payable maker [music] does it all for you, why do you care? It's just like magic.
It's just It's not Yeah, it's not wild.
White wide appeal. Wide appeal.
Yeah, it's not as niche as it gets. He cannot go white.
He lose his player base.
Of course. Yeah. Yeah.
Yeah. His player base is gold.
Yeah, for sure. For sure. So, I mean, this like all inactive at this point
already. I was looking at it and in in in August like pretty he pretty much like dropped the UA completely.
So we have
bunch of new tower on the block.
Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. And this is like very very interesting case. Like how did you even find out
what this game?

Idle Obelisk Miner represents a significant departure from contemporary mobile gaming standards, demonstrating that a solo-developed title can achieve exceptional financial performance by rejecting industry-standard monetization and design tropes. By eschewing intrusive advertisements, mandatory tutorials, and modern user interface trends, the game cultivates a minimalist, old-school aesthetic that resonates with a dedicated, hardcore audience. This anti-mobile philosophy prioritizes deep, unfolding progression mechanics and granular quality-of-life features over mass-market accessibility, effectively fostering a highly engaged community that values authentic, complex gameplay.
The financial metrics of the title are particularly notable, as the game generates approximately $100,000 in daily revenue from a relatively modest volume of 4,000 to 5,000 daily downloads. This results in an impressive revenue-per-download figure of roughly $13, a testament to the game’s high spend-depth and the efficacy of its player-friendly economic model. With a stable base of 50,000 daily active users and a robust community of over 57,000 members on Discord, the game proves that specialized, developer-led design can outperform mainstream titles that rely on aggressive user acquisition and ad-based revenue streams.
Growth for the project is driven primarily by organic reach and strategic influencer partnerships rather than paid user acquisition. By maintaining a balanced, transparent economy and avoiding the pop-ups and predatory monetization common in the idle genre, the developer has secured long-term retention among veteran players. Ultimately, the success of Idle Obelisk Miner serves as a case study for the viability of niche-focused development, highlighting how prioritizing community trust and mechanical depth can yield superior unit economics in the competitive mobile landscape.
