The PlayStation-published port saw significant sales in week 24.
The Steam market performance for week 24 of 2025 highlights a dual-track landscape defined by high-profile new releases and the strategic use of aggressive discounting to revitalize legacy titles. The primary objective of this analysis is to quantify sales performance and identify market drivers for top-performing games, emphasizing the critical role of the Chinese market and pricing strategy in achieving commercial success.
New releases dominated the top of the charts, led by the PlayStation-published port Stellar Blade, which sold 527,000 copies during the week, largely fueled by a 56% audience share from China. Dune: Awakening followed at the second spot with 271,000 copies sold, demonstrating strong player retention. Other notable new entries included the indie co-op title R.E.P.O, which reached 15 million lifetime sales, and 11 bit studios’ The Alters, which also saw significant traction in China.
The latter half of the top ten was characterized by legacy games experiencing surges in volume due to record-low price points. Titles such as Mortal Shell, This War of Mine, Borderlands 3, and Resident Evil Village all secured spots in the top ten after implementing significant discounts. These findings underscore that while new launches rely on regional market penetration and genre appeal, legacy titles effectively leverage deep price cuts to convert wishlists and maintain franchise momentum ahead of upcoming sequels. The data suggests that for both new and established intellectual properties, strategic pricing and targeted localization remain essential levers for driving Steam revenue and player acquisition.
