Krafton’s financial results for the first quarter of 2024 demonstrate significant growth, characterized by record-high quarterly revenue and strengthened profitability. The company reported total revenue of ₩665.9 billion ($488 million), representing a 23.6% year-over-year increase. Operating profit rose by 9.7% to ₩310.5 billion ($227.5 million), while net profit saw a substantial 30.5% gain, reaching ₩348.6 billion ($255 million).
The mobile segment remains the primary revenue driver, contributing 60.4% of total sales with a 15.5% increase compared to the previous year. Combined revenue from PC and console platforms also showed strong momentum, growing 38.3% year-over-year. This performance was bolstered by the sustained popularity of the PUBG: Battlegrounds franchise, which achieved its highest monthly active user counts and revenue figures since transitioning to a free-to-play model in 2022.
Strategic expansion remains a core focus, particularly regarding the Indian market, where the company aims to become the leading publisher through the release of multiple titles and continued investment in local development talent. Globally, Krafton is aggressively pursuing growth through acquisitions, targeting nine total deals in the first half of 2024, including recent investments in C77 Entertainment and Red Rover.
Looking forward, the company is prioritizing the integration of artificial intelligence to enhance development efficiency and innovate gameplay mechanics. Planned applications include AI-driven quality assurance, asset generation, and the implementation of large language models for NPC interactions in upcoming titles. Additionally, the company is preparing for the launch of Dark and Darker Mobile following a successful initial beta test in South Korea.
