See it on page 58Bandai Namco Group's Integrated Report 2026 sets out the company's purpose, "Fun for All into the Future" and "Connecting the World with Smiles," and presents FY2026.3 results as evidence that its intellectual property strategy is delivering record growth. Net sales reached ¥1,348.2 billion (up 8.6% year on year), operating profit rose to ¥189.5 billion (up 5.2%), and ROE stood at 17.0%. The report frames these results as the product of an "IP × Business × Area" approach, leveraging a portfolio of more than 600 IPs across its Toys and Hobby, Digital, Visual and Music, and Amusement units. The Mid-Term Plan (April 2025 to March 2028) targets ¥1,450 billion in net sales, ¥200 billion in operating profit, a 12% or higher operating margin, and an overseas sales ratio of 50% or more, against an actual overseas share of roughly 42%.
The Gundam franchise is the report's central growth driver, with groupwide sales of ¥254.3 billion in FY2026.3, up about 65.7% and exceeding ¥250 billion for the first time. Management attributes this to visual works, product and service synergies, and new fan entry points such as the SD Gundam G Generation ETERNAL mobile title, and is building toward the franchise's 50th anniversary in 2029. Growth investment plans include roughly ¥600 billion over three years and a new CW360 division, alongside manufacturing expansion at the Plamo Design Industrial Institute and a Visual and Music restructuring. Other growth areas highlighted include Tamagotchi's 30th anniversary, the Ichibankuji and Customer Experience Retail businesses, and TCG expansion in North America and China.
Governance and sustainability receive substantial attention. The board has 14 members, five of whom are independent outside directors, and the annual effectiveness evaluation is rated generally positive, though the report acknowledges risks of stagnation and misalignment with fan expectations. Sustainability commitments include a 50% reduction in Group GHG emissions by 2030 and 65% by 2035 relative to FY2020.3 (with about 21,000 t-CO2 already reduced), net zero by 2050, and a Recycled Cotton Project equivalent to 45.5 million PET bottles. Shareholder returns remained substantial, with a 51.0%
