Bandai Namco
Bandai Namco Holdings’ financial results for the third quarter of the fiscal year ending March 31, 2026, demonstrate steady growth, with net sales reaching 1,002.2 billion yen, a 4.9% increase compared to the same nine-month period in the previous fiscal year. Despite this top-line growth, operating profit declined by 12.2% to 157.4 billion yen, reflecting shifting margins across the company’s diversified business segments.
The Toys and Hobby segment remains the primary revenue driver, contributing 503.7 billion yen in sales—an 8.5% year-over-year increase—and maintaining a robust operating margin of 20.6%. The Digital business, while stable in sales at 358.9 billion yen, experienced a notable contraction in operating profit, which fell to 49.9 billion yen. This segment’s performance was influenced by a decline in home console game sales, which totaled 156.2 billion yen for the nine-month period, even as the company increased its total number of titles. Conversely, the Amusement segment showed positive momentum, with sales rising 6.7% to 111.7 billion yen, supported by strong performance in amusement facilities.
Geographically, Japan continues to be the company’s dominant market, accounting for 711.2 billion yen in sales and the vast majority of operating profit. International performance was mixed; while the Asian market saw growth in both sales and profit, the Americas and Europe faced declines in operating profit compared to the prior year. The company’s intellectual property strategy remains central to its operations, with Mobile Suit Gundam emerging as a standout performer, generating 188.1 billion yen in group-wide sales. These results, based on internal management accounting, underscore a strategic focus on leveraging core IP assets to sustain long-term growth across global markets.
