was zero marketing we've not spent a single dollar buying users for any one of her games and pastern was kind of a great example of it I'm Canon Raju country head and vice president for Jason gives India and I come here every year partly Network in it you know gamers in India also trying to understand what's going on in Indian market and also sharing the knowledge in what we have learned serving the global market right and can you talk about the kind of footprint or functions that exist or GSN here in India you know we do everything from India parts of LA you know key games producer starting from product game design development and including the customer support and so it's kind of cross-functional teams that can do anything and everything for a successful game right and then I've noticed that there's a lot of like ex-singer folks kind of who have spread out to do how influential was Zynga and helping build
sort of the gaming infrastructure here in India look I used to work in single men the lot of friends and guys connected together so I think some of us learned you know predicating Zynga and of course I'm not more learning in GSN games as well but we're all connected they're all friends we know each other we share as much as possible we help each other right that that's that's what I can think about these ecosystem and I think you know was the probably one of the first global company that came to India right right and applied to create the right talent and also right now trying to build out more a talent pool for India and we've been creating lot of talent in product game designer solution okay all right Thank You c'n on thank you [Music] I shall I mean what else can it be right it has to be three monster that's the
most expensive card in the game that's the baby there is a very mixed card lease by smoke site is three no I don't know why people are so scared see you yeah Walter Devon's the CEO of a manga studios who make Temple Run Temple Run 2 and some upcoming more Temple Run games we have we're here at Indy and GDC and very excited we have a huge Indian population that plays our game a lot of Indian fans and we're looking just to connect with them more and learn about the gaming culture here in India so we can have a good time and when can you announce some of the new temple run games coming out well so Temple Run 2 we're always having big update so we have a huge update holiday habit coming out in four days okay but we have two new games that aren't the scores yet that should be released in 2020 so beyond the outlook for those and we are also here with Dave how's it going name hi could you tell us who you are and what you're looking forward to it a GDC so I'm Dave Germany I'm the CEO of mobility we're and we're one of the original app developers that was there
on the App Store on the first day and we're famous for a lot of the casual card games and similar to Monte we're here to see the market in India and probably understand it a little better and also looking out for potential partners okay thank you so I'm gonna hurt cornered product Lee for import games I lead the design and leg ops for a studio so info is mainly amid code base to do based out of Bangalore we work on the mid for titles developed in India for Indian audience and we work as a publishing partner for father we bring games from outside of India and act as a publishing partner for MSU and what are you looking forward to the most India GDC the most we are looking forward is there to object this why we are here to look for other partnership opportunities with other companies as well and to look for new talent who we can hire right I mean you guys were in the news recently because you guys are
doing sort of the live ops for vainglory so how's that been so far what's your experience been yeah I mean they see she have done a great job in developing vainglory it's an exciting project for us as well it's since we have all this midcourt experience and most of us have played dota for like ten years so we have that MOBA expertise as well it's been an easy transition for all as of now and it surely is definitely an exciting project for us to work on and the project itself has so much value as being the first touch based MOBA game out in the market and I think we can good do a good job on managing range or define right and then what's been like sounds like an Corps is doing really well you guys have been able to sign up some really great customers you guys are growing what's been like the main challenge for you or what's your current main challenge in terms of operating the business the main challenge is I think we know that what
talent is available in India and it's very good the development talent here is very good and we have already know many companies around India so I would say the main challenge is to acquire a good game design talent in terms of mid for experience all the game designers who based for based out of India are more casual game designers and most of them have had not exposure to the mid core games when that's obvious because India never development for games by themselves right so we are looking to hire some good game designers who are into the mid portion okay thanks a lot thank you you don't want access to all this stuff so this is no reason that subscription makes me nervous into the dating service their system at the last
minute and therefore we had to as well so we had three teams across three different times of 12 hours go with a major launch on this a major worldwide launch to try to fix this issue we have been blessed and that we started to gain Oh finders don't call it venture capitalists hello my name is JB and I work for Miniclip we're mobile games developer and publisher and what did you enjoy most about India GDC coming to learn a lot about the developers ecosystem here as well as the players the things that they like to play the things that they enjoy playing learning from them as well as understanding more about your culture it's been amazing okay and you also had a talk can you tell us a little bit about what you talked about yes of course so I I served the team here in India about how many clip has been able to grow our ecosystem here in India the types of games that we're looking for as well as our intention to come here to work with more developers to publish our games alright great thank you very much thank you [Music]

that some monetization metrics and any insights just put it together adding the art science and commerce of gaming yeah I think you can figure this out I think there are many ways to marry difference and we also have to give Betty Lou who have been to this website called the construction of farm he has this very popular podcast with the same name even if you guys have not one by one okay

really friendly eager to learn have found a lot of them have watched the game makers YouTube channel so I'm really appreciative of that and I'm really excited to be going home having met a lot of new friends and you know excited also for featured potential and possibilities with some of the companies I've met here and we'll see what happens hey my name is Ravi been doing games for the last 12 years earlier the CEO of Jun gaming and she make real-time multiplayer games and now what we're learning what we did with a large game called Mass done what we note this one that games more than 20% of our players just come to hang out with their clan you chat what was this playing a game what we thought is there's a larger opportunity to kind of leverage that kind of interaction between players facilitate genuine interaction between players through a different platform
especially around casual games that's why we are doing super gaming so forgiving is kind of a collection of games that we play with your friends a lot of these would be in-person games anything that that's really the fun of playing arcade side games with each other or our secret sauce is kind of capturing those great those special moments that you have inside of those games and bringing them out in story like formats kind of creating those great memories of gameplay between friends be coming out soon so we hope to kind of show you the game itself versus tell you about it thanks and from what I saw it looked really awesome the key is you're a specific date in terms of when it's coming out or is that just TV announced to be at about three weeks a week okay little baby today we are back where a great set of investors and we're kind of looking to kind of say figure out how we can get you to play the difference in person and then facilitate the same interaction when you are away from each other as well [Music]
you know [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music]
India GDC 2019, held in Hyderabad, served as a central hub for over 3,000 video game industry professionals and 200 speakers to discuss the evolving landscape of the Indian gaming market. The conference functioned as a networking and knowledge-sharing platform, connecting global industry leaders with local developers to explore opportunities in game design, publishing, and talent acquisition. The event highlighted the growing maturity of the Indian gaming ecosystem, which has transitioned from a support-focused hub to a center for original product development and mid-core gaming expertise.
Key industry insights emphasized the critical role of data-driven decision-making in modern mobile game publishing. Experts noted that minimizing risk through soft launches and rigorous analysis of retention, engagement, and conversion metrics is essential for success. While India possesses a robust pool of development talent, a primary challenge remains the scarcity of experienced mid-core game designers, as the local market has historically been dominated by casual gaming. Companies are actively addressing this gap by fostering cross-functional teams and seeking international partnerships to elevate local production standards.
The conference also showcased the strategic importance of the Indian market for global studios, with representatives from companies like GSN Games, Imangi, and Miniclip citing the country’s large player base and high-quality technical talent as primary drivers for their presence. Discussions revealed a shift toward community-centric gaming, where developers are increasingly focusing on social interaction and clan-based features to drive player retention. By facilitating connections between global publishers and local studios, the event underscored India’s rising influence as both a consumer market and a sophisticated development powerhouse within the global gaming industry.
