The organization aims to diversify its revenue streams and broaden its fanbase.
London-based, publicly traded esports organization Guild Esports has officially entered the fighting game community by launching a professional Street Fighter 6 team. This strategic expansion represents the organization’s first foray into the fighting game genre, with the stated goal of diversifying revenue streams and broadening its overall fanbase. The initial roster features professional players Reneil ‘JoKeR JoKeZ’ Landell, Rabiae ‘Takamura’ Houmaid, and Alfonso ‘VegaPatch’ Martínez Pozo.
The launch is supported by a collaborative marketing initiative with Sky Broadband, an existing partner of the organization. As part of this activation, the companies are hosting a live-streamed tournament titled the "sweat room," where participants compete in high-pressure, one-on-one matches within a heated environment. This event serves both as a promotional campaign and a talent scouting mechanism, as Guild intends to utilize the competition to identify and recruit additional players for its Street Fighter roster.
This move expands Guild Esports' competitive footprint, which already includes professional teams in Fortnite, Valorant, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, FIFA, and Rocket League. The organization continues to leverage its extensive portfolio of corporate partnerships, including brands such as Subway, Coca-Cola, Samsung, and Secretlab, to sustain its growth and operational activities within the UK esports market.
