G2 Esports, a Berlin-based esports organization, has formalized its executive leadership team by appointing Alban Dechelotte as permanent chief executive officer. Dechelotte, who previously served as the company’s interim CEO following the departure of founder Carlos ‘Ocelote’ Rodriguez in September 2022, brings extensive experience from his prior roles at Riot Games, Coca-Cola, and Havas Sports & Entertainment.
The leadership restructuring also includes the appointment of Sabrina Ratih as chief operating officer and the formalization of Philippe Adam’s role as chief financial officer. Ratih joins the organization after a seven-year tenure at Red Bull Media House, where she held various executive marketing positions. Adam, who joined the company in June 2022, brings a background in finance and investment from his previous work at firms including Morgan Stanley and Oak Hill Capital Partners.
These appointments represent a significant shift in the governance of G2 Esports, signaling a move toward a more traditional corporate leadership structure. By securing permanent leadership across key operational and financial functions, the organization aims to stabilize its management following the high-profile exit of its founder. The transition reflects a broader trend within the professional esports industry to prioritize experienced corporate leadership to navigate the complexities of global business development and financial sustainability.
