Berlin-based esports firm Freaks 4U Gaming has secured a contract renewal from Riot Games to continue operating the League of Legends Prime League. This agreement grants the company the rights to manage the regional league, which covers Germany, Switzerland, and Austria, for the 2025 through 2027 period. While the financial terms of the operator license remain undisclosed, the renewal reinforces a long-standing partnership that has seen the firm manage competitive League of Legends play in the DACH region since 2018.
In conjunction with the license renewal, the league will maintain its commercial continuity, as German health insurance provider Techniker Krankenkasse has committed to remain the title partner for the 2025 season. This stability follows a period of organizational restructuring for Freaks 4U Gaming, which included staff layoffs and the divestment of other league operations in late 2023. The company’s operational outlook has since stabilized following its acquisition by India-based NODWIN Gaming in 2024.
The renewal serves as a strategic milestone for both parties, signaling a continued commitment to the development of the League of Legends EMEA ecosystem. By securing these rights through 2027, Freaks 4U Gaming maintains its position as a key infrastructure provider for regional esports, leveraging its established production capabilities to support the growth of the DACH competitive scene.
