The Esports World Cup Foundation has introduced the "Music of EWC," a strategic initiative designed to establish an original musical identity for the 2025 Esports World Cup. This multi-stage project aims to enhance the tournament's brand presence through a curated sonic landscape, which will be integrated into event broadcasts, on-site experiences, and digital content. The competition is scheduled to take place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, from July 7 to August 24, 2025, featuring a total prize pool of $70 million.
The foundation has partnered with Abbey Road Studios to record four initial tracks composed by 2WEI and Hollywood Scoring. To further expand this musical identity, the organization has launched an open competition hosted on the cloud-based platform Audiotool. Through this contest, a panel of industry judges will select two additional tracks to be incorporated into the official EWC soundtrack. This collaborative approach is intended to foster community engagement and reflect the global nature of the esports industry.
The Esports World Cup is funded by the Saudi Arabian government’s Public Investment Fund and operated by the ESL FACEIT Group, a subsidiary of Savvy Games Group. While the initiative seeks to define the cultural role of the tournament, the event continues to face scrutiny from international human rights organizations regarding its association with the Saudi Arabian government. By blending professional production with community-sourced content, the foundation aims to create a unified, recognizable voice for its multi-title festival.
