Emirates Esports Federation Partners With ITW Global

The Emirates Esports Federation (EEF) has entered into a strategic partnership with India-based ITW Global to launch the Indian leg of the E-Gaming League (EGL). This initiative aims to establish a new international, franchised esports competition that spans multiple regions, including the Middle East, India, China, Southeast Asia, Europe, and the United States. While the specific financial terms of the agreement remain undisclosed, the collaboration is designed to foster a regulated and sustainable environment for players, publishers, and brands within the esports ecosystem.

The EGL is structured as a multi-title competition, with initial plans to feature games such as Dota 2 and PUBG, alongside other titles to be announced. The league will utilize a franchise and draft format to facilitate international participation. A key milestone for the project is scheduled for April 2024, when six selected franchises will travel to the United Arab Emirates to compete on an international stage. To support this, a rigorous player selection process, including multiple rounds of qualifiers, is slated for February and March 2024, followed by the official launch of EGL India in October 2024.

Operating under the auspices of the UAE’s National Sports Council, the EEF views this partnership as a significant step toward the professionalization and development of the regional esports industry. By creating a centralized, regulated platform, the federation intends to harmonize the interests of various stakeholders and bolster the long-term growth of competitive gaming in the region.
