The ESL FACEIT Group (EFG) announced that the 2023 DreamHack Dallas festival, held at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center from June 2–4, would feature seven distinct esports competitions with a combined prize pool of $933,000 USD. The event serves as a major hub for competitive gaming, encompassing professional, collegiate, and all-women tournament circuits across various titles.
The tournament lineup includes the Intel Extreme Masters (IEM) Dallas 2023, which offers a $250,000 prize pool for Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, and a $250,000 Fortnite tournament open to attendees. Other featured competitions include the Halo Championship Series Global Invitational ($125,000), the ESL Impact Dallas Finals for women’s CS:GO ($123,000), the Collegiate Rocket League World Championship ($75,000), and the Rocket Clash all-women Rocket League tournament ($20,000). Additionally, the DreamHack Fighters segment covers a variety of fighting games, including Super Smash Bros. and Tekken 7, with a collective prize purse of $90,000.
This event highlights the ongoing scale of EFG’s festival model, which integrates high-stakes professional play with community-focused activities. The financial significance of these gatherings is underscored by previous performance data, such as the DreamHack San Diego festival, which generated an estimated $4.7 million in local economic impact. By hosting these diverse competitions, the festival provides a platform for international talent from North America, Europe, Mexico, and Oceania while offering pathways to larger global events, such as the IEM Cologne 2023 and the Gamers8 tournament in Saudi Arabia.
