These actions place a total of 380 roles at risk. The Barcelona studio will now focus exclusively on 'Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six: Siege'.
Ubisoft is implementing a significant restructuring plan, resulting in the closure of its Winnipeg and Belgrade studios and the reduction of its global publishing team. These actions place 380 roles at risk. Additionally, the company is restructuring its Barcelona studio to focus exclusively on Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six: Siege, narrowing its previous scope across multiple franchises.
These measures are part of a broader financial strategy to reduce fixed costs by €500 million, with a target of lowering annual expenditures from €1.75 billion in March 2023 to €1.25 billion by March 2028. The closures and layoffs follow a period of sustained downsizing for the publisher. Throughout 2025, the company reduced its global headcount by 1,500 people, including office closures and staff cuts in cities such as Stockholm, Halifax, Paris, Abu Dhabi, Toronto, Leamington Spa, San Francisco, Osaka, and Sydney.
The affected studios were integral to the development and support of major Ubisoft intellectual properties. The Winnipeg studio provided technical support for the Anvil and Snowdrop engines, contributing to titles like Far Cry 6 and Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, while the Belgrade studio supported various entries in the Tom Clancy series, The Crew 2, and Skull and Bones. This ongoing series of divestments and personnel reductions reflects the company's aggressive efforts to streamline operations and achieve long-term financial targets amidst a challenging industry landscape.
