Ubisoft First-Quarter 2022-23 Sales

Ubisoft’s first-quarter fiscal 2022-23 financial results demonstrate a performance slightly exceeding internal projections, with net bookings reaching €293.3 million against a target of €280 million. Despite a 10% year-over-year decline in net bookings, the company maintains its full-year non-IFRS operating income target of approximately €400 million. This resilience is attributed to the strong performance of key franchises, specifically the Assassin’s Creed brand and Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege, which both outperformed expectations during the period.

The company’s strategic focus remains on expanding its intellectual property reach, particularly within the mobile gaming sector. A significant development includes a new high-value licensing partnership for a AAA brand, intended to leverage the company's portfolio for a wider audience. While the firm continues to build its pipeline, it has adjusted its release schedule, moving Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora to the 2023-24 fiscal year to ensure high-quality delivery. Digital net bookings accounted for 89.4% of total revenue, reflecting a continued shift toward digital distribution and recurring player investment.

Geographically, North America remains the primary market, contributing 51% of net bookings, followed by Europe at 29%. Platform distribution shows consoles leading at 47%, followed by PC at 27% and mobile at 12%. Beyond financial metrics, the company achieved a milestone in corporate responsibility by becoming the first pure-player video game company to receive official target validation from the Science Based Target initiative for its carbon reduction objectives. Additionally, shareholders demonstrated strong support at the annual general meeting, approving all resolutions with at least 95% support and confirming a board composition that includes an absolute majority of independent directors.
