The company aims to settle this balance after finalizing the Vantage Studios deal with Tencent.
The Ubisoft semi-annual financial report for the period of April 1 to September 30, 2025, outlines a period of significant corporate restructuring and financial stabilization. The company’s primary objective remains the reduction of operational expenses and the management of a substantial net debt, which reached €1.15 billion by the end of September. To address these fiscal challenges, Ubisoft has implemented aggressive cost-cutting measures, including a reduction of 1,500 employees over the past year, bringing the total headcount to 17,097 as of September 30, 2025.
Financial performance during this period shows a mixed landscape. While revenue experienced a slight decline of 2.1% to €657.8 million, net bookings rose by 20.3% to €772.4 million, with legacy titles accounting for 96% of that total. The company continues to operate at a loss, though net losses improved year-over-year, falling from €246.5 million to €161.4 million. Console platforms remain the primary revenue driver, contributing 59% of bookings, followed by PC at 23% and mobile at 7%.
Looking ahead, the company is prioritizing further expense reduction, targeting an additional €100 million in savings for the 2026–2027 financial year through continued hiring discipline and restructuring. Strategic efforts to improve liquidity include the pending finalization of a deal with Tencent to establish Vantage Studios, which is expected to facilitate the settlement of current net debt. The company maintains a monthly active audience of 34 million players across its console and PC portfolio and has scheduled the release of four titles by April 2026, including mobile projects and a remake of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, to bolster future growth.
