Rainbow Six Siege follows closely with over €3.5 billion. Far Cry has also generated over €2 billion in revenue.
Ubisoft’s financial disclosures for the first half of fiscal year 2025 highlight the long-term commercial performance of its core intellectual properties. The company revealed that six of its franchises have generated over €1 billion in player spending each over the decade spanning September 2014 to September 2024. This data underscores the publisher's reliance on established brands, with Assassin’s Creed leading the portfolio at approximately €4 billion in revenue, followed closely by Rainbow Six Siege at over €3.5 billion and Far Cry at over €2 billion. Ghost Recon, The Division, and Just Dance round out the group of six top-grossing series.
The performance of Rainbow Six Siege is particularly notable, as its lifetime revenue is nearly comparable to the entire Assassin’s Creed franchise. This multiplayer shooter continues to serve as a primary revenue driver, evidenced by double-digit growth in playtime and session days during the first half of the fiscal year. Other franchises maintain significant reach, with Assassin’s Creed surpassing 200 million copies sold and Just Dance reaching over 140 million players.
Despite the strength of these legacy franchises, the company experienced a decline in revenue and net bookings during the first half of fiscal year 2025. This downturn is attributed to the underperformance of Star Wars Outlaws, which failed to meet internal sales targets. In response to these results and broader market criticism, the company has committed an additional €20 million toward the development and refinement of Assassin’s Creed Shadows, which is now scheduled for release in February 2025.
