Tunisian game developer Urar Studio has released the official 4K trailer for its upcoming title, Kopno: Blightfall. The announcement, timed to coincide with Gamescom week in August 2026, serves to build momentum for the project’s next phase of development, specifically an upcoming playtest. The game is currently available for users to wishlist on Steam.
The project represents a collaborative effort within the Tunisian development scene. Urar Studio CEO Seifeddine Bzainia credited co-founder Houssemdine Souaf for his contributions to level design, animation, and technical development, while lead programmer Elaa Hidri managed coding and optimization. Additional development support included character design by Tarek Siela, environment props by Mohamed Aziz Setti, and animation expertise provided by the local firm Lanterns Studios.
This release highlights the growing visibility of African game studios on the international stage. By leveraging major industry events like Gamescom, studios from the region are increasingly positioning their work to reach global audiences. The development of Kopno: Blightfall underscores a broader trend of emerging African talent utilizing collaborative networks and high-fidelity production standards to compete in the global gaming market.
