The mobile gaming landscape in November 2019 was characterized by significant revenue growth among top-tier titles, with Tencent maintaining a dominant market position. The primary objective of the analysis is to identify the highest-grossing mobile games globally during this period, utilizing gross user spending data from the Apple App Store and Google Play. The scope of the data excludes third-party Android marketplaces, focusing instead on primary global storefronts.
PUBG Mobile emerged as the leading title, generating approximately $158 million in revenue, representing a fivefold increase compared to the same period in the previous year. China served as the primary market for this growth, accounting for 51 percent of total spending. Honor of Kings followed as the second-highest earner with $120 million, maintaining a steady 1 percent year-over-year growth, with 94 percent of its revenue derived from the Chinese market.
Other notable performers included Candy Crush Saga, Lineage M, and Coin Master, the latter of which achieved its highest monthly revenue to date at over $63 million. Market consolidation was evident among major publishers, as Tencent and Playrix were the only entities to secure two positions each within the top ten grossing charts. Playrix, in particular, saw strong performance from Gardenscapes and Homescapes, which combined for $107 million in monthly revenue. These findings are derived from the Store Intelligence platform, which tracks historical performance metrics and gross user spending across the mobile ecosystem.
