The game was available in more than 60 markets.
Pokémon Masters achieved a strong commercial debut, generating an estimated $26 million in gross revenue during its first week of availability in September 2019. This performance establishes the title as the second-highest grossing mobile launch within the Pokémon franchise, trailing only Pokémon GO. While Pokémon GO earned $56 million in its initial week across five markets, Pokémon Masters reached its total through a broader release spanning more than 60 markets.
The revenue data, derived from Sensor Tower Store Intelligence estimates, highlights significant regional disparities in player spending. Japan emerged as the primary market, contributing approximately $16 million, or 62 percent of the total first-week revenue. The United States followed as the second-largest market, accounting for 17 percent, or $4.5 million. Other notable contributors included Hong Kong, Taiwan, and France. Platform distribution favored iOS, which captured 72 percent of total spending, while Google Play accounted for the remaining 28 percent.
When compared to other mobile entries in the series, Pokémon Masters significantly outperformed titles such as Pokémon Quest, Pokémon: Magikarp Jump, and Pokémon Rumble Rush, which generated $3 million, $1 million, and $300,000 respectively during their opening weeks. Despite the successful launch of Pokémon Masters, the broader franchise ecosystem remained robust, as evidenced by Pokémon GO recording its highest-earning month in three years during August 2019. By the end of its first week, Pokémon Masters secured a position as the tenth-highest grossing mobile app and the ninth-highest grossing mobile game globally.
