Pokémon Masters EX achieved $75 million in global player spending during its first year of operation, establishing itself as the second-highest grossing mobile title within the Pokémon franchise. While it remains significantly behind the long-term revenue generated by Pokémon GO, the title outperformed all other previous Pokémon mobile entries in its inaugural year. The game also demonstrated strong engagement, securing the second-highest global download ranking within the Squad RPG subgenre during this period.

Financial performance was heavily concentrated in Japan, which accounted for 52.7 percent of total revenue, followed by the United States at 23.5 percent. The Apple App Store served as the primary revenue driver, capturing 61 percent of total spending. In terms of user acquisition, the game reached 22.7 million total downloads, with the United States leading in installs. Google Play maintained a slight majority in download share, accounting for 53 percent of the total volume.

The analysis highlights the impact of lifecycle management on mobile game revenue. Following a major first-anniversary update and a rebranding to Pokémon Masters EX on August 27, 2020, the game experienced a significant surge in monetization. Player spending during the seven days following the update reached $5.4 million, representing a four-fold increase compared to the preceding week. This performance underscores the effectiveness of substantial content updates and event-driven strategies in revitalizing player spending one year post-launch.
