People Can Fly’s financial results for the first quarter of 2024 demonstrate a significant improvement in profitability, characterized by a 63% year-over-year revenue increase to PLN 56.8 million (€13.1 million). The company successfully narrowed its net loss to PLN 864k, down from PLN 4.29 million in the same period of 2023, and transitioned to an operating profit of PLN 3.9 million. Geographically, the company’s revenue distribution shifted notably, with Europe’s share dropping from 88% in the prior year to 48% in the current quarter.
Operational challenges persist, most notably regarding the launch of Bulletstorm VR, which the company officially labeled as unsatisfactory. This performance led to the termination of the development and publishing agreement with Incuvo, with People Can Fly assuming full responsibility for the title’s future commercialization and final production.
The studio currently maintains a diverse development pipeline consisting of five active projects. Project Gemini, currently in production, remains subject to ongoing strategic negotiations with Square Enix. Meanwhile, the studio is developing Project Maverick for Microsoft and is working on two self-funded titles, Project Bifrost and Project Victoria, in partnership with Krafton. A fifth title, Project Red, is in the pre-production phase as the studio actively seeks a publishing partner. To support these initiatives, the company is prioritizing the expansion of its development teams and the continued refinement of its proprietary PCF Framework, which is designed to enhance multiplayer capabilities within the Unreal Engine ecosystem.
