Hero Esports, formerly known as VSPO, has announced that its upcoming Asian Champions League (ACL) will feature a total prize pool of 15 million RMB, equivalent to approximately $2.04 million USD. The tournament is scheduled to take place in May 2025 as part of the inaugural DreamHack Shanghai event, marking the first time the DreamHack brand has hosted a competition in China.
The multi-title tournament will feature a diverse lineup of games, including Dota 2, Counter-Strike 2, Teamfight Tactics, CrossFire, Honor of Kings, and the first-person shooter Delta Force. While the total prize pool is set at $2.04 million, specific allocations for most titles remain undisclosed, with the exception of the Counter-Strike 2 competition, which is confirmed to account for $300,000 of the total purse.
The event highlights the ongoing influence of major industry stakeholders in the Asian esports market. Hero Esports maintains significant backing from minority investors, including Tencent and the Saudi Arabian government-owned Savvy Games Group. By integrating the ACL into the DreamHack Shanghai schedule, the organization aims to leverage a high-profile international platform to showcase its multi-title competitive circuit.
